Alan and Kalena are enjoying life with their 7 beautiful children. They are all going to a private school, except for Kapu and Mele since they are still too young. Kalena loved her big family, but really wanted to have one more child. However, after trying for a long time, she couldn't seem to get pregnant. So she decided to spend a while with her family on the small island in Hawaii where she grew up to eat foods and perform special rituals that are believed to help a woman conceive. Alan thought it was a little crazy for her to leave her family for so long and he didn't believe it would actually work. But when she returned home and they began trying again, she quickly became pregnant with triplets! Alan of course was shocked, but they were both very happy. The pregnancy went really well, but the labor didn't and after all three tiny little girls were born, they had to do an emergency hysterectomy. Kalena was heart broken that she couldn't have any more children, but that quickly faded when she held her new daughters, Kiana, Alaula, and Mahina.
