It has been a year since Kai's birth and the family is doing well. Kalena has been begging Alan to take time off work so they can visit her family in Hawaii, but his job is very demanding and he doesn't have time for much else. Kalena loves being a mother to her son and is so much happier in their home with him there as well, but she hardly ever gets to leave the house because she doesn't speak much english and she can't drive. She now has a little more excitement, however because they just welcomed their second child, a tiny little girl that they named Konani Olivia Emmerson!
