Chrysanthe and Fabrice named their two darling babies Gwyneth Llewella Charity and Gabriel Athanasius Fabrice. Gwyneth means "blessed." Fabrice thought this was appropriate for their daughter, since she was blessed to remain with them. Llewella, meaning "bright light" or "lion leader," was a name that Chrysanthe admired. Charity was a name picked for their daughter by a young maiden who was in the room when Gwyneth was born. The maiden said, "You should bless her with the honor of having 'Charity' as a name. She looks like one who is charitable." Chrysanthe and Fabrice had to agree. They took the maiden's advice. While naming their son, Fabrice had received news of the disappearance and death of his beloved brother Gabriel. He and Chrysanthe decided to honor Fabrice's deceased brother by naming their son after him. Athanasius means "immortal," which was a good choice since from birth they could see that Gabe and Gwyneth shared an immortal love, no matter how long little Gwyneth would live. They also named their son after his father.
Not too long before the birth of the twins, Fabrice and Chrysanthe had to send relief efforts to LaVignette's largest border city, L'Arlette, after the large fire ravaged its streets. While the king himself went to investigate the fire, Fabrice heard many rumors. Some said that there were spies amidst the people of L'Arlette. Others said that they knew people who could possibly be sent from a nearby country that might want to go to war. There were individuals who had decided that the fire was just a freak of nature. No one knew for sure.
It was just after Fabrice returned from L'Arlette that Chrysanthe gave birth to Gabe and Gwyneth. Of the twins, Gwyneth was older by a minute and a half, but that didn't make her healthier. In fact, Gwyneth was found to be suffering of a heart defect. Gwyneth will have to live with this her whole life long. When the doctor announced Gwyneth's condition, Chrysanthe burst into tears over her little daughter. As soon as the first round of tears passed, Chrysanthe and Fabrice made a vow to each other that they wouldn't take it to harshly if Gwyneth was always weaker than the rest of their children. Sometimes in the middle of the night, though, one or the other finds that they simply can't hold back the tears. When the news leaked out to the kingdom, most people prepared to mourn for the loss of the new princess. As the days since Gwyneth and Gabe were born pass, the kingdom finds that the survival of Gwyneth is close to a miracle. They are quite happy for their king and queen.
