LN: David
DH: Daniel Guy (34)
DW: Shiri Talia (33) [Sokolsky]
DD: Maya Nahal (9)
AS: Adam Nikolai (9) [Russia]
DD: Avigal Lior "Gali" (5)
DDog: Hot Dog (nb)
Maya
Gali and Hot Dog
Adam
Languages spoken in the home: English, Hebrew, Spanish, French, Russian
Six months after they sent their application in, Shiri and Dan got news that a young boy in Russia was in need of a good home. Adam or Nikolai (as he was called at the time) was about Maya's age, a little older, and in the same grade. Like them, he was also Jewish.
Adam's father had left his mother before he had even been born, thus he was born into a single parented family. Adam had a half-sister, too. When he was seven and she was four, their mother got into a car accident and died. No one knows for sure what happened to his sister but no one wants to talk about it.
When Adam first came to live with his new family he only spoke Russian. Both girls had a basic knowledge of Russian (plus a few curse words, thanks to the neighborhood kids) and Shiri spoke fluently. Dan knew a little.
Adam had mixed feelings about having two sisters because it made him sad, he missed his little sister, Kitty (Katarina), but it also happy, he was glad to finally be part of a family.
Maya immediately liked him, but Gali took her time, clinging to Maya and her parents more than ever before. Eventually, they bounded over soccer.
*Next Round: Hmmm... Eastern Europe... Four or younger... Girl or boy...
(Not next round but in round 3 or 4, his sister could be adopted)
