In the Kingdom of Kemberg
After the Colonial Wars, that claimed that life of Markgraf Ulrich-Waldemar and lead to the adoption of his two daughters into the royal court, had come to a conclusion Kaiser Heinrich's people had tired of war and so had the military, unfortunately Kemberg's neighbours to the East, the Grand Duchy of Oranienburg decided the time was right to try reclaim the lands that they felt were unjustly inherited by the Kemberg line of the von Salzwald family a century prior.
The war was hard and long, with both sides gaining short held advantages over a four year period until the 3rd battle of Reineck, when the forces of Kemberg, personally led by Heinrich routed the larger Oranienburg force and pushed thru to the captial of Oranienburg, Halver. While Halver was being beseiged the Kaiser was able to leave the command of his forces to his only full brother, Prinz Maximilian.
Heinrich came home after 4 long years on the front. Irene had had a hard time running the royal court with her husband absent and her brood of children. She was relieved for Heinrich to be home and their passion for each other had grown during this time and they fell pregnant quickly.
During the pregnancy Irene seemed to gain weigh quickly but lacked much energy. Her confessor Father Philip believed that it was a sign from the Lord that the war must be ended peacefully and soon or a calamity may fall upon the house of von Salzwald. Soon after his pronouncement, Prinz Maximilian fell while lead the assault of the Orianienburg castle.
The news reached Heinrich & Irene who on hearing it, immediately went into labour. She delivered two fragile little princes. Father Philip said to Heinrich that he should give the young princes names that might appeal to the Lord, so that they will be favoured once more. So Heinrich asked his own confessor, Father Casimir. He suggested that one should have Lazarus, and the other Zacharias.
So the boys where baptisted as Felix Lazarus Leopold Casimir Magnus & Nikolaus Zarachrias Maximilian Wulf Magnus.
Prince Felix first two names together mean, Forunate My God has Helped, in thanks for God's provision in the war and hope He will save the child. His other names are Leopold in honour of father's maternal Grandfather Markgraf Leopold, Casimir after Father Casimir and the traditional Magnus.
Prince Nikolaus's first two names together mean, The Victory of the People God Remembers, in honour of the victory of the war, and hoping God will let Nikolaus live to be be a living reminder of the victory. His other names are Maximilian after his fallen uncle, Prinz Maximilian, Wulf after his godfather, Prinz Wilhelm's eldest son, Herzog Wulf and the traditional Magnus.
