HelpNyx' Royal Congrats ▓▒░ Round 4 ░▒▓
OK – In order for me to be able to track a story across so many different setups, I will be referring to each child in numerical order (so Prince/ss1 would be your first child and Prince/ss2 would be your second child, etc. – I will be referring to all children as “he” unless everybody has a girl). I will also be providing two different storylines. If you have a Kingdom/Queendom, you will have one story line; and if you have an Empire, you will have a different story line (see below for descriptions of what the different social structures mean).
List of Social Systems:
Kingdom: Patriarchy, the father or eldest male is head of the household, has a system of government by males, titles are traced through the male line
Queendom: Matriarchy, the mother or eldest female is head of the household, has a system of government by females, titles are traced through the female line
Empire: Primogeniture, the eldest child of the sovereign succeeds to the throne, regardless of gender, and females enjoy the same right of succession/titles as males
Kingdom/Queendom: For Kingdoms, we are referring to the King’s younger sister (if this doesn’t work into a storyline, then do a younger cousin). For Queendoms, we are referring to the Queen’s younger sister (if this doesn’t work into a storyline, then do a younger cousin). The King’s/Queen’s younger sister is 6 months pregnant when her husband is killed in a skirmish or battle. The Queen is pregnant at the same time, and suggests that the young widow comes to court for the remainder of the pregnancy. This happens, and the two spend the remainder of their pregnancy together. The younger sister goes into labor early, and has a rough time. While she survives the labor, she is very weakened and the physicians are unsure whether she will pull through. Before the baby is a month old, the sister dies. The same day, the Queen goes into labor and delivers a healthy child. Unable to turn the orphans away, the King and Queen agree to adopt them. However, they will not be considered in the same ranks as the other Prince/ss’, and will keep within the normal line of inheritance for the throne. How does the King and Queen feel about adopting their young nieces? How does the Kingdom/Queendom feel about this adoption? How does everybody feel about the birth of another healthy child?
Empire: If the Emperor inherited the throne, then this is about the Empress’ sister. If the Empress’ inherited the throne, then this is about the Emperor’s sister. The Emperor’s/Empress’ sister died in childbirth, leaving two young daughter’s without a mother. The sister was married off to a foreign King who had no use for the sister or the girl children she produced. Refusing to have “foreign brats” within his kingdom (patriarchy), he sent them into the Empire and to the Royal court to “be dealt with as seen fit” (the infant didn’t even have a name!). In the end, it was decided that the Emperor/Empress would adopt the children and raise them as their own. However, they would only be able to inherit the throne if all of the Emperor’s/Empress’ natural children were unable to inherit for some reason. At the same time as this, the Empress was taking care of her own newborn child. How does the Emperor and Empress feel about adopting their young nieces? How does the Empire feel about the adoption? How does the Empire feel about the Kingdom’s treatment of the Emperor’s/Empress’ nieces? Finally, how does everybody feel about the birth of a new heir (which was greatly overlooked with the adoption mess)?
Rules: Please check that all information is correct. If any changes are needed, please remember to bold changes so that I will notice and change in my information. Please make sure that the royal address (ie, King Adam or Empress Anne the IV) is attached to each King/Queen.
All children must have at least 2 MNs. You must choose all names from the name bank. You can use variations in origins (such as Guillermo instead of William), or respellings (such as Elisabeth instead of Elizabeth). Also, if you find a nickname in the name banks, you can chose to use this with a FN that is not in the namebanks (such as Euphemia “Effie” – The FN doesn’t necessarily have to be the original name that goes with the nickname though).

Kingdom: Patriarchy, the father or eldest male is head of the household, has a system of government by males, titles are traced through the male line
Queendom: Matriarchy, the mother or eldest female is head of the household, has a system of government by females, titles are traced through the female line
Empire: Primogeniture, the eldest child of the sovereign succeeds to the throne, regardless of gender, and females enjoy the same right of succession/titles as males
Kingdom/Queendom: For Kingdoms, we are referring to the King’s younger sister (if this doesn’t work into a storyline, then do a younger cousin). For Queendoms, we are referring to the Queen’s younger sister (if this doesn’t work into a storyline, then do a younger cousin). The King’s/Queen’s younger sister is 6 months pregnant when her husband is killed in a skirmish or battle. The Queen is pregnant at the same time, and suggests that the young widow comes to court for the remainder of the pregnancy. This happens, and the two spend the remainder of their pregnancy together. The younger sister goes into labor early, and has a rough time. While she survives the labor, she is very weakened and the physicians are unsure whether she will pull through. Before the baby is a month old, the sister dies. The same day, the Queen goes into labor and delivers a healthy child. Unable to turn the orphans away, the King and Queen agree to adopt them. However, they will not be considered in the same ranks as the other Prince/ss’, and will keep within the normal line of inheritance for the throne. How does the King and Queen feel about adopting their young nieces? How does the Kingdom/Queendom feel about this adoption? How does everybody feel about the birth of another healthy child?
Empire: If the Emperor inherited the throne, then this is about the Empress’ sister. If the Empress’ inherited the throne, then this is about the Emperor’s sister. The Emperor’s/Empress’ sister died in childbirth, leaving two young daughter’s without a mother. The sister was married off to a foreign King who had no use for the sister or the girl children she produced. Refusing to have “foreign brats” within his kingdom (patriarchy), he sent them into the Empire and to the Royal court to “be dealt with as seen fit” (the infant didn’t even have a name!). In the end, it was decided that the Emperor/Empress would adopt the children and raise them as their own. However, they would only be able to inherit the throne if all of the Emperor’s/Empress’ natural children were unable to inherit for some reason. At the same time as this, the Empress was taking care of her own newborn child. How does the Emperor and Empress feel about adopting their young nieces? How does the Empire feel about the adoption? How does the Empire feel about the Kingdom’s treatment of the Emperor’s/Empress’ nieces? Finally, how does everybody feel about the birth of a new heir (which was greatly overlooked with the adoption mess)?

All children must have at least 2 MNs. You must choose all names from the name bank. You can use variations in origins (such as Guillermo instead of William), or respellings (such as Elisabeth instead of Elizabeth). Also, if you find a nickname in the name banks, you can chose to use this with a FN that is not in the namebanks (such as Euphemia “Effie” – The FN doesn’t necessarily have to be the original name that goes with the nickname though).

Fidelia had always been close to her younger sister Nydia, but they have seen little of each other since Nydia was married off to a foreign king four years ago. Nydia died recently, and one of the first things her husband did was send Nydia’s two young daughters back to Prylyn – as they could not inherit the throne, he had no use for them. Fidelia was heartbroken at her sister’s death and eager to take in her two nieces, who she has just met. Theobald is less enthusiastic, but has decided to humor his wife and allow the little girls to be raised alongside his own children. Hadassah is the same age as Prince Rainer, and the infant Eliora is only a few months younger than the newest princess, Parthenia.

The Empress’s newly widowed brother-in-law wanted nothing to do with daughters as his kingdom relied solely on male heirs. “They are of no use to me. I'd drown them like an imbred bitches pups if I could. Do with them what you will; I do not care,” he wrote coldly in his letter to the Emperor. When the nieces arrived, Faustina had already delivered another Prince but the birth was hardly noticed due to the ensuing adoption and a decision on title arrangements to be given to Cornelia and her sister. And the baby was not properly named and therefore unrecognized by empirical law! It was decided that the sisters, Countess Cornelia and Countess Almena, would only inherit the empire if all of the Royal Family, by direct line, were to pass away. Once the logistics of the adoption and the succession line were completed, the new and larger family could now settle into routine.
Faustina recruited the help of nursemaids to help take care of Cornelia, Almena, and her four children but Cornelia clung to Faustina, frightened by the unfamiliar people and home. The people of Yarrow were not surprised by the adoption. Hugo and Faustina were known for their charity and what woman would not take in her sister’s children? A year after the Countesses arrival, their father died. He choked on an apricot exported from Legolat while courting a whore.

During Asenath's fourth pregnancy, her younger cousin, Hebsibah, arrived to Thaeris with news of sorrow. She had been married off to one of the Strangers, a certain Giovanni, by her parents to ensure peace between the Strangers and their tribe. But the unexpected happened and the people of their tribe revolted against the union of their leaders' daughter with one of the Strangers and attacked. Hebsibah's husband Giovanni was killed, leaving their daughter Lucrezia fatherless; what's more, Hebsibah was also pregnant during the death of her husband. Seeking refuge from her incensed tribe, she had come to her cousin Asenath's tribe for help.
Asenath was more than willing to assist Hebsibah, her memories of losing her family returning to her mind, and gladly offered for Hebsibah to remain in the High Priestess' quarters with her family and herself. Asenath was also pregnant during that time, and spent the time with her cousin as the two would play with the children whenever Asenath had time. Lucrezia was quickly accepted into the family by her cousins, Zubia being more than glad to have another playmate and Kiara quietly toying with her long blonde hair - a phenomenon which only ever happened if a tribe member had married a Stranger. Desmon was also happy, in his own way, to have a playmate his equal.
Some time after, Hebsibah went into labour and delivered a second daughter. The baby, named Vanozza after her father, was a healthy, waddling one, but Hebsibah herself was in very poor shape. The stress of the recent happenings, along with the rough delivery, has greatly weakened her. By the same day her cousin Asenath delivered her own Sul'i'mi Giovan (named after Hebsibah's late husband), Hebsibah expired in her bedroom, leaving two orphaned daughters in her cousin's hands.

After Antonia's oldest female cousin's husband died in battle she welcomed Florence into the household. Her daughter, Fleur, got along well with Elias and Electra and Florence and Antonia had always gotten on.
Florence went into labour early though and, though she gave birth to a healthy, if small, daughter, it was very hard on her. Scarcely three months later, as Antonia brought Princess Lina into the world, Florence passed away. Antonia was heart-broken when she heard the news and Florence's daughters were given the title of Archduchess, which was their birthright anyway.
When Antonia and Toby adopted Fleur and Victoire however parts of the Queendom started whispering about what was going on until Antonia stated that the normal inheritance route was still going to be employed.

Tabitha was heartbroken to hear that her younger sister Shoshannah had died in childbirth. Shannah had also had an arranged marriage but wasn't quite as lucky with her chosen spouse; Nereus of the planet Teilo was a tyrant. He cared little for his wife or two daughters and was eager to be rid of the girls so that he could remarry and try for a male heir.
Gareth instantly knew that Tabitha would want to take the girls. He was more than willing but warned his wife not to exhaust herself caring for so many children. With four kids of their own, recently including baby Dorian, Tabitha had a tendency to run herself ragged and her health still wasn't what it used to be since she was poisoned.
Zoe didn't even have shoes when she got off the transport vessel, clutching her infant sister like a teddy bear. It took weeks to get the girl to come out of her shell, but once she did, Zoe proved to be bright and quite opinionated. She vetoed a dozen or so names before finally allowing her aunt to call the baby Judith Esther Olympia Renata Delphine. Nora loved having Zoe to play with. She often made her cousin submit to dressup games, but Zoe seemed to prefer playing action figures with Phin (and Cal, when he could be talked into it).

Round 1:
Bram was slightly stunned when he was told the news. Not only had his King, Queen, and all five of their children passed away from the mysterious epidemic, but so had his mother, the King's younger sister. He was all of a sudden he was the one to inherit the throne of Melquior. The next thing he knew, he was being crowned and had advisors after him at all hours of the day and night. He was no where prepared for this. By the time he was born, the King and Queen already had 2 healthy children and there was no need to think that he might need to be trained to inherit the throne. His advisors badgered him about many different issues, and some he could see were plots to help out those nobles who suggested them.
However, there was one thing all of the advisors agreed upon, he needed to marry and provide heirs to give an image of stability to the Empire. After going over countless lists of eligible and connected females from within the Empire and without, and meeting many of them briefly, he chose his childhood sweetheart the Marchesa of Anburn. This proved to be very wise of him, as Zahara had a mind that was born to see through the political twists and turns of the court and Empire. And, as the two were rapidly falling in true love, Zahara found herself helping Bram more and more. With the rapid series of changes in the Empire recently, no one can tell what is around the corner. However, Bram and Zahara now seem ready to tackle the challenges ahead.

please note i changed one of Princess2's middle names, from Eternity to Cosima. It still follows the naming rules of last round.
Also, I messed with the storyline a little (used a brother instead of a sister or cousin), but it shouldn't affect anything.

When Prince Kaz was two years old, Queen Eve found she was expecting yet again. At three months pregnant, her status was announced to the kingdom.
A month after that, King Griffin received a letter, requesting he come immediately to a house on the shore. It was signed simply with the letter W.
Griffin brought along a few guards, in case the situation was a trap of some kind, and went as requested. When the door opened, standing before him was his brother, Winton.
Win invited him inside, where he found rather poor conditions. Waiting inside was a pregnant woman—six months along—and a small girl, perhaps only two. Winton explained that the woman, named Hadassah, was his wife, and the little girl was his daughter—her name was Tomorrow.
He explained that Hadassah had struggled in her first pregnancy, and wasn't doing well with this one either. He also explained that he was being called to sea again—he worked in the merchant navy, shipping goods around the world—and he was worried about leaving Hadassah alone with a toddler and a difficult pregnancy. He said he'd heard of Griffin's ascension to the throne, and asked that Griffin take Hadassah and Tomorrow back to Phantasma and watch over them until he could return.

I am trying my hardest to only provide an outline, the bare bones, so that people can chose how to use it within their own family/stories...

Shortly after Maya was born, David's sister Eve married King Charles of England.
King Charles, or Chuck, as he told the melech and malka was visiting the faraway empire on business. Irsale and Enwascnoir (his kingdom) were planning on becoming trading partners (since Irsale's neighbors aren't friendly and Enwascnoir conquered all of hers). One day while being led around the Palace grounds (by the young and ambitious Nesicha Sarah), they ran into Eve. Eve had no royal title, but she, her dad, and brother all lived on Royal grounds, per request of Avi. Chuck was taken by Eve, as much as she was taken with him, and when he left to return to Enwascnoir, she went along with him.
David, Avi, Omer, and Michael didn't hear back from their sister and daughter until this year, when she wrote to them that she was pregnant with her second child and wished to return and see her beloved family. Avi was just glad that she was coming back, but David was mad. How dare she leave the empire for such a long time and then contact them?
Eve wanted to come back to the empire, just until her baby was born. She felt the doctors in Irsale were better than the ones in the Kingdom that she was now the queen of. Her elder daughter had nearly been killed during her birth. Even though much of the untitled royal family was mad at her, Avi arranged for her sister-in-law and neice to come spend the remainder of her pregnancy in Irsale.

At first, Emperor Finnian was unsure if he should adopt his young nieces or not. He was upset over his sister's death, and the way his brother-in-law had treated her and his nieces.
In the end, Empress Mattie convinced him that these girls needed a good, loving home, and that they could give that to them.
During this time, the Empress Mattie was also busy taking care of their newborn daughter, Princess Eden Dolly Constanza Daffodil.
The Empire was very welcoming of all three new additions, even if it was somewhat overwhelming at times.
The two new princesses, Anya Abbey Alexanderina who had just turned 3, and the unnamed newborn, who they later named, Aria Alix Annabelle, adjusted very well to their new family.

Emperor Philip III of Kin is dead! His pregnant Empress and his daughter were smuggled out of Kin by Loyalists had just made it over the Dunlin border when the Rebels discovered the absence of the Emperor’s family.
Empress Celestina Damaris Andromeda Parthenope Decima and her daughter were welcomed with open arms by Queen Catherine and Prince Christopher. As Empress Celestina was pregnant, Princess Helen was not immediately named Empress Regnant of Kin, in the hopes that Empress Celestina was carrying a boy. Empress Celestina went into labor early and, after a very hard labor, gave birth to another girl. Princess Helen was named Empress Regnant Helen Dominica Severina Penelope Amaryllis, “Empress Helen II of Kin,” although the Kin people no longer recognized Emperors or Empresses as their rulers.
When Empress Celestina died within the month, Queen Catherine and Prince Christopher adopted the girls. There was no question, as they were the girls’ closest relatives. They decided to let the girls’ retain their titles, in essence not recognizing the new government in Kin. Shortly afterward, Queen Catherine gave birth to a daughter of her own. She was named Lucretia, after Queen Catherine’s paternal grandmother; Celestina for Empress Celestina; and Frances, for Prince Christopher’s younger sister. Princess Lucy was styled Princess of Warquin, which is a province in Dunlin.

A time of mixed emotions has befallen the people of Kemberg. The royal couple have had to take in the daughters of Markgraf Ulrich-Waldemar & Markgrafin Maria-Ludwiga of Velbert. Maria-Ludwiga was the youngest daughter of Kaiser Heinrich's older half brother, the later Kaiser Johan IV. She was a stunting beauty and most popular with the people of the late Kaiser's seven daughters.
She was pursued by many suitors, including several heirs to thrones and at least one aged Monarch looking to produce an heir. Her heart however had belonged to Ulrich-Waldemar since she was a young teenage girl and he a dashing albeit much older cavalry officer in her father's army.
They married when she was 17 and he 35. After marriage Ulrich-Waldemar had retired from active duty and soon fathered his first daughter Johanna.
A few years later Heinrich had to deal with the uprising in the colonies and ask Urlich-Waldemar to return to duty to lead a loyalist brigade. He dutifully accepted and bid his newly pregnant wife farewell for the last time.
He died a national hero but the stress of his death caused Maria-Ludwiga to go into premature labour with there youngest child, Ulrike. Maria-Ludwiga caught an infection and died only a month after her daughter's birth.
Heinrich striken with guilt took in the youngest girls to be raised alongside his children, which now included another son, Prinz Waldemar Friedrich Ernst Alexander Magnus. He was so named after Ulrich-Waldemar, his grandfather the late Kaiser Friedrich II, Ernst after another hero of the colonial war, Count Ernst von Wilsdruff, Alexander after his parent's common ancestor, King Alexander VI of Saxeland and the traditional Magnus.

After the accident who killed King Morgan's father and brother he was left with his mother, Queen Victoria, his older sister Susannah and his younger sister Marguerite. Queen Victoria passed away a year and a half later, and Susannah got married and moved to another country. King Morgan had a good relationship with his younger sister, Princess Marguerite.
Princess Marguerite's husband, Prince Heinrich, was killed in battle, leaving Princess Marguerite alone with their three year old and a baby, due three months later. The King and Queen couldn't leave her alone so they let her move in with them. She and Queen Jane had a lot to talk about since they both had 3 year old and were both expecting a baby!
Princess Marguerite suffered from grief, which led to her going into labor too early. She has a rough time, but the doctors were hopeful that she would make it through. She did make it through and she got to kiss and hold her newborn baby girl for a while and tell her and three year old Adelaide how much she loved them. But eventually she gets more and more weak, and she passes away in sleep when baby Polly is three weeks old.
King Morgan is griefing and his wife, Queen Jane, is in shock. Later that morning, she goes into labor. A perfectly healthy boy is born, Prince Alexander. The Royal Couple didn't wanted to turn Adelaide and Polly (as she is called within the family) away, and therefore agreed to adopt them as their own. They both love them, but King Morgan are having some troubles bonding with Adelaide because she lookes just like her mother, whom the King misses a lot.
