King: William Charles Geoffrey Albert, King William (29)
Queen: Elisabeth Helena Ingrid Philippa, Queen Elisabeth (23)
Crowned Prince1: William Friedrich James Leopold Augustus, Crown Prince James (5)
Princess2: Eleanore Viktoria Wilhelmine Mathilda, Princess Nora (2)
Prince3: Phillip Conrad Johannes Emmanuel, Prince Phillip (nb)
From the Royal House of Savoy
In the Kingdom of Caladan
James was just beginning to crawl when Elisabeth discovered that she was once again with child. As her first pregnancy had given her no trouble at all, it was a complete shock to everyone when the queen miscarried shortly after James' first birthday. The doctors said that it was because Elisabeth's body had not yet fully recovered giving birth and that the royal couple should wait a few more months before trying to conceive again. William and Elisabeth heeded the doctors' advice, and by the time James turned two, the queen was pregnant. But she miscarried again, and again, and again. The Caladaneans were on edge: if James was to be the only royal child, his life would be in even more danger from subversive factions within the kingdom and from without. After all, without James, the House of Savoy could very well end with William.
The king was hesitant about having another child, but Elisabeth wanted to keep trying. In the end, she became pregnant, but the royal court decided to hold off on an official announcement until at least the sixth month. When news finally broke that the queen was once more expecting, all of Caladan was ecstatic. A healthy princess was born a few months later and christened Eleanore, though her father insists on calling her Nora.
Overjoyed at the birth of their daughter, the royal couple decided to tempt fate once again by trying for another child. (The court advisors had also not-so-subtly hinted that another son, in particular, would strengthen the standing of the Caladanean crown.) Remarkably, Elisabeth's pregnancy progressed without problems, and Prince Phillip was born shortly after Nora's second birthday.
