A few months after Gabe was born, the agency that put them together with Camilla put them with a baby boy only a year old. His name was Sam, and his story was a sad one. His father had been a drug addict who abandoned his mother when he found out she was pregnant. Sam's mother, who had battled depression all her life, committed suicide only a few weeks after giving birth. He had ben in foster care ever since then, and he was eventually placed with the O'Neals, who were registered as foster parents. They loved him dearly, and after only a few weeks he felt as if he had always been part of the family. They wanted to adopt him right away, but legal red tape and then the father's interference kept the adoption from being finalized for almost two years. But recently everything was settled, and Sam became an official part of the family!
