As new parents, Ada and Gwen disagreed on almost everything. They're both headstrong and both had a lot of preconceived notions about how one should act as a parent. As they both got used to parenting and got to know their son, that lessened, and they started to listen to one another more. Despite Gwen's more fanciful suggestions, they decided to name their son David, a name that could work both in Guatemala and the US, and that also honored Gwen's grandfather.
