Both Dan and Tali were born in Quebec, Dan about a year before Tali. When Tali was 5, her family moved to Rhode Island, and about a year later, upstate New York. When Dan was 14, his family also moved to New York. Even though they were in the same grade, they didn't attend the same schools so they only met by chance.
The first meeting happened about three months after the Bachmans' (Tali was still a Zimmerman then) moved. Dan and his family had been leaving a restaurant, just as Tali and her family entered it. Tali recognized Mrs. Bachman and Ilana, Dan's sister. Tali didn't notice Dan then, even though she saw him.
The next time they saw each other, they were going on a date. One might be surprised to here this, but it was set up by their parents. That might be surprising, too, but the reason they set it up was because home coming was coming up and Dan didn't have a date. Tali had planned on going with her friends. Since the home comings were on different days, the mothers thought it would be cute if they went together. The date was awkward at the beginning, but once they began talking, it went along quickly. The next day, his friends teased him about his girlfriend, but he was hooked. Neither could wait till Tali's homecoming.
Tali and Dan had been dating for about nine years, and they got married on the tenth anniversary of their first date. The wedding was simple, held in the local Synagogue. For their honeymoon they traveled to Israel, where both of them had family, and traveled the country.
Once they got back, they moved to the New York City (Brooklyn, to be exact). The reason for the move was that it was closer to NYU, where Dan goes to school. Tali is studying languages at night, and working as a nurse during the day (she has a degree in Nursing).
About a month after the move was Tali's birthday. Because he knew how much she missed her family and their multitude of cats, he decided to buy her a kitten. Bella is a very calm and laid back kitty.
Dan is laid back and calm. Tali is energetic.
