Your name: Selina Malia Mackey (I name genie'd this also)
Age: 25
Occupation: HS English teacher
Hair: Wavy brown
Eyes: brown
SO's Name: Morgan Jasper Anderson
Age: 26
Occupation: Lawyer
Hair: straight brown
Eyes: hazel
Year 1:
Morgan and Selina get married after dating for five years in a beautiful ceremony at an old historical house. Three months after, Selina's friend calls and asks if she and Morgan can take care of her exotic African Macaw while she moves into her new place. They agree, and are at first very excited to temporarily have the gorgeous bird, but they soon grow very tired of it: it is a very finicky eater, violent (it almost tried to peck Selina's eyes out once), and repeated everything they said. A week later, when Selina's friend picked up her pet, they were relieved to see him go and hoped that a baby would be easier.
Year 2:
On a hot summer day, Morgan absentmindedly leaves the door of their small house open. While he isn't looking, their beloved dog Rufus bolts out. Selina is furious when she finds out, and both of them go out for hours in search of Rufus, but to no avail. For three days they are sick with worry, but finally a neighbor calls them and says that she had spotted Rufus in the nearby park. Morgan and Selina go pick up Rufus, relieved that he's all right, and Selina apologizes for lashing out.
Year 3:
After seeing a documentary on the lives of children in the foster care system, Selina decides that she wants to become a foster parent. At first Morgan thinks it's just a phase, but, they both really begin to look into it and Morgan decides it would be a very benevolent thing to do and it would be good practice for when they had their own children. Soon after they get approved, the DFC sends them a brother and a sister: Lucas and Maya, ages 8 and 5. Though they struggle--Lucas has problems with anger management and had multiple instances of violence at school, and Maya didn't talk for the first three months--Morgan and Selina form a bond with the kids, and when at the end of the year their aunt petitions for custody and wins, they are happy that Lucas and Maya have found a stable home, but are heartbroken to see them leave. However, they play to keep in touch.
Year 4:
Selina feels a void where Lucas and Maya were after they go to live with their aunt, and she and Morgan decide to adopt a pet. They thought maybe they would get a cat or a dog, but both of them are very surprised when they're drawn to rats. Selina falls in love with a little grey rat, and she and Morgan take him home and his brother, a little white rat, home. They name them Nicodemus and Justin, after the Rats of Nimh.
Year 5:
In the middle of the night, Morgan and Selina get a horrible phone call: Victoria, Selina's older sister, and her husband had died in a head-on collision with a drunk driver, leaving behind two children--Gabriel, four, and Josephine, who had just turned one. When Morgan and Selina got engaged, they agreed to be Gabe and Josie's guardians if something happened to her, so they immediately drove to Connecticut, where Victoria lived, to get the children. Selina is devestated to lose her sister, and Gabe and Josie, though young, know something is wrong. Morgan and Selina bring the kids back to their house, and after a while, things start to normalize. Selina loves being a mother, and Morgan a father, and they decide to adopt Gabe and Josie, who, despite their parents' deaths, are thriving under their care.
Year 6:
Morgan decides that his new family deserved a vacation after surviving the hellish previous year. The Andersons decide to visit France, since Selina has always wanted to go. They have a wonderful time: the kids love seeing the sights and going to the museums to see the pretty paintings, and everyone eats wonderful food and even picks up some French. Soon after they get back, Selina believes that she's pregnant--she's nauseous and tired all the time. She takes a pregnancy test, but just as she is about to read it, she hears an indignant cry from the other room and rushes out--Josie had bumped her head on the coffee table. Amongst the tears and the comforting, Selina completely forgot about the pregnancy test until a day later, when Morgan found it on the counter. "Guess what, honey? You're pregnant!" Morgan said to a shocked Selina as she was making breakfast the next day.
Year 7:
At her 20 week ultrasound, Selina finds out she's having identical twin boys. She and Morgan are overjoyed, and Gabriel is very excited to have two new brothers to play with. On March 24th, John-David Asher "JD" and Theodore Samuel Anderson are born, healthy and pink and screaming their lungs out. Both have a shock of thick brown hair and brown eyes. Only five months after the twins are born, to her surprise (and, she'll admit it, initial horror,) Selina realizes she is pregnant again. She hopes that she'll be able to deal with five children under the age of 8.
Year 8:
On May 5th, Aurelia Eowyn makes her way into the world, a wide-eyed, curious babe with curly brown hair and deep blue eyes, just like Selina's mother and Morgan's sisters. After having a somewhat traumatic hospital experience with the twins, Selina decides to have a homebirth with Aurelia, a fact which disturbs both sets of grandparents. They even send her e-mails threatening to come and take Selina to a hospital themselves. Selina does the best to assuage their fears with research and articles, and has a peaceful, successful homebirth.
Year 9:
Selina and Morgan decide it would be fun to take the entire family to Disney World. It's a tough job, wrangling an eight year old, a five year old, and two rambunctious two year old boys with a baby in tow, but Selina and Morgan plan the logistics way ahead of time and it ends up being a blast. Selina and Morgan take turns with the little ones so that they can go on all the rides with their older kids, and all five kids are absolutely delighted to meet all the characters. The Andersons come back home exhausted, but they definitely had the time of their lives.
Year 10:
Since a lot of her students are from a poor, predominantly Spanish-speaking area, Selina decides to learn Spanish so that she can communicate better. She starts taking classes and using Spanish words at home, and soon, her husband and her children pick up on it.
Year 11:
Selina begins to plan a trip to Mexico so that she and her family can use their newfound Spanish skills when she finds out she's pregnant again, with twin boys, no less. Again. This time they're fraternal, and Morgan and Selina feel somewhat bemused about their luck--they had wanted children, but they never thought they would have seven. Selina is due in late January of the next year, but she goes into labor a month early and gives birth on Christmas Day. Morgan and the kids move the tree from their house to Selina's hospital room, and the Andersons open Christmas presents with the two new additions to the family: Leon Riley and Bruno Malcolm Anderson. Both babies have brown eyes, but Leon's hair is brown and curly and Bruno's is thick and blonde.
Year 12:
Morgan has go to on a business trip to China for work to meet with some international clients. Selina dreads him going, for she has no idea how she's going to manage her seven children by herself, especially with Leon and Bruno being so young. Selina has a few tough nights, but in the end she is surprised at how well she does managing her children on her own. She is very glad to see Morgan come back after a week--now Selina definitely knew she couldn't do it without him! (At least, not for long.)
Year 13:
The Andersons decide to take another family vacation: this time to Williamsburg, Virginia. The older two think at first think they'll be bored just learning about history, but they love seeing all the old houses and buying tin whistles and hats at the shops and watching the historical re-enactments--even the younger ones watch with wide-eyes, but the 101 canon salutes scare them. The Andersons definitely considred this vacation a success.
Year 14:
Selina's good friend and colleague, a fellow English teacher named Melinda Rodgers, is having her first baby and wants Selina and Morgan to be the godparents. Selina and Morgan had gotten close with Melinda and her husband over the years, and are delighted to accept. On August 14th, Melinda gives birth to a little girl: Cecilia Jane Rodgers. Selina and Morgan are besotted with the little girl and are proud to be her godparents. Later in the year, Selina finds out that she is pregnant again. She and Morgan consider abortion--they already have seven kids, and with Selina rapidly approaching 40, they didn't know if the pregnancy would be safe. However, after a few weeks, Selina decides that she didn't have the heart to not go through with the pregnancy.
Year 15:
Selina is delighted to find out that she's having another girl. However, Selina develops pre-eclampsia and is ordered to strict bedrest. On May 31st, Selina's third daughter Victoria Rosemary--named after her older sister and best friend Victoria--is born two months early, with curly brown hair and brown eyes. Although she is very tiny and spends some time in the NICU, Victoria recovers and is sent home after three weeks with a clean bill of health. Though they had many more children than they had originally planned, Selina and Morgan loved them all deeply and uniquely and wouldn't change it if they could.
