We decided we didn't want to have kids right away but I did want something besides Dave to take care of and spoil so we got a dog. She is a shih tzu pekingese mix dog named Lola.

Name: Maya Rachel Anderson
Birthday: October 31st
Maya's birthday was a very hectic day. My due date wasn't until November 8th, but she decided she would come early. I was in the middle of handing out candy to a couple of cute pirates when my water broke. It was crazy and those poor little kids didn't understand what was going on. In the end it all turned out great and our blond wavy hair, blue eyed girl was born, healthy and happy.
Year 3:

We decided we would go on a little family trip to show off Maya to our relatives in California. Maya did great on the airplane. She slept the whole time and everyone in California loved her.

Dave invited his boss and his wife over for dinner last week. Everything went pretty well. He's a nice guy and his wife was great to talk to. They have a little girl a couple years older then Maya so she informed me on all the lovely experiences we were gonna have with our little one in the next few years.

I had only been back at work about 6 months after taking an extra long mat leave when they asked me to go on a business trip to make a design presentation for a pretty high-up-there guy in New York who hired us especially. It was tough leaving Maya, but it was also nice to get away by myself for a bit.

Name: Nia Zuri Anderson
Birthday: November 12th
We decided we wanted to add to our family and give Maya a sibling. For as long as I could remember I wanted to adopt and we thought it would be the perfect time to do so. We started looking into over seas adoptions and came across Africa right away. It seemed perfect to us. We thought it would take a while but we actually got a call about little Nia quicker then we thought. We brought her home just a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier.

Name: Asher Nicholas Anderson
Birthday: May 25th
Almost immediately after we brought Nia home we got a call about a young mother in Australia who chose us to adopt her unborn son. We were shocked and thrilled at the same time. We weren't sure how we were gonna manage but we couldn't say no. Our little wavy, blond hair, brown eyed little Asher is doing great. Maya is loving having her two babies around to play with.

Name: Tyler James Anderson "Ty"
Birthday: September 6th
It was Dave and my anniversary and things got a little carried away. We were not very careful and I ended up pregnant. We were def. not planning to have another kid for a couple years at least but these things happen and we would not change having little Ty here in a second. Ty has wavy blond hair and brown eyes.
Year 9:

Dave had to go on a business trip to Denver to go to a conference. It was really hard being at home alone with all the kids. My mother and mother-in-law helped me out a lot though so that was great!
Year 10:
Event: Travel
Dave and I really needed some time to ourselves. When you have 4 kids you sometimes forget to do that. We decided to go on a second honeymoon to Hawaii. It was absolutely perfect. The weather was great, the food was great and we got to do a lot of relaxing!
Year 11:
Event: Pet
The kids were begging us for a pet but I didn't feel ready for another one and even though they promised to take care of it and feed it and clean up after it, I knew it was not going to happen. Dave and I thought about it and we decided to get them each a goldfish. They are easier to take care of then a dog or cat. The kids decided to name them after the characters in their favourite movie, Nemo, Marlon, Dory and Squirt from Finding Nemo.
Year 12:

We invited Dave's boss to dinner again. Things went just as well as last time. This time they brought their kids as well. They have 4 just like us and they are similar in age. It was great to have the kids make some new friends and it was nice having dinner conversations with someone older then 10 years.
Year 13:
Event: Family Affair
Sadly, Dave's older sister Sarah died in a serious car crash just last week. She was a single mother to two young kids, Sophia Rose (7) and Ezra Michael (5). At first the kids were going to live with Dave's parents but we all came to the agreement that it would be better for them to come live with us and the kids. Everything is pretty quiet around the house right now and I don't think Sophie and Ez have completely understood what has happened. Its hard to think about it now, but I know things will get better soon.

My coworker and best friend Leah and her husband Tom just gave birth to their first child. A boy named Jaxon Sage. They asked Dave and I to be the godparents. Of course we said yes! Their are our best friends and were there for us last year when Dave's sister died. We are so lucky to get to be little Jax's Godparents.

After the last couple years we had being a little stressful, Dave and I decided to take the kids to the "happiest place on earth"...DISNEYWORLD!!!! The kids were so excited and really enjoyed themselves.
