It is 1930. Bob and Beth have now both retired. All the kids have left the house, and Bob is volunteering at a charity hospital in San Francisco. Victoria and Henry had a daughter four years ago named Leah. Unfortunately, Leah died of unknown causes while she was an infant. Last year, they welcomed another daughter whom they named Mary. Mary is healthy and her brothers absolutely love her. Andrew and Amelia now have a daughter, named Laura after Andrew's older sister who died as a child. They haven't been able to have other children yet, though they want them badly. Jamie got into the oil business and owns several pipelines in Mississippi and Louisiana. He isn't married yet, but lives in the South.
