It's been 5 years since the twins were born and three more children have been added to the family. Now every morning at five the four eldest children get up to work. Maggie and Dora milk the cows and the twins collect chicken eggs. After they're done they have a breakfast of cornbread, milk, and eggs. At around 7 they begin schooling. Nora begins with Maggie and Dora (so they can then go care of Don, Eddie, and Sophia). Once school is done for the older girls the family has dinner (this is at 11am) followed by educating the twins. By the time school is over for everyone it is 3 and the kids go tend to the animals and help in the fields. At 6 they have supper and by 8 all the children are in bed.
