Eve was shocked to discover she was pregnant. She had not expected any more children, but was pleased nonetheless. Verena has been seriously dating Ainsley Walker for more than two years and is hoping for an engagement ring sometime soon. Ben and Conan have both dated infrequently, and take advantage of their identical nature in attempts to 'score', which everyone else in the family finds repulsive, especially Verena. In spite of this, they are quite popular with the girls.
While all the children were surprised and perhaps a little grossed out that their Mum was pregnant, they are all very happy to have a little brother, especially Elliott, who was sick of being the baby in the family.
Verena and Ainsley are doing a lot of babysitting for Eve and Alex, and they have both taken to it quite well. They have discussed children, and while they would like them in their future they want to put it off for a couple more years. Ainsley is studying Chemistry at Uni, and Verena is doing a course in child care at TAFE. She hopes to open a child care business when she is fully qualified.
