Bea, Bernard's twin, noticed immediately that Meg was sick, even though Meg tried to hide in. In the end Meg eventually told Bea that she was pregnant. Meg couldn't quite read what Bea's face showed, and that scared her slightly. Of course, once one knew the rest knew. Meg couldn't decide whether to be happy about it or kind of ticked off that she didn't get to tell them on her terms. She couldn't do everything the way she wanted to, that was okay. Naturally her parents came next, but she didn't tell her brother. Bernard seemed okay with the situation, but that might not have been the case...

if he knew that Bea (what did her face show? are you refering to the fact she's pregnant) knew. Bernard knew his sister all too well and knew that she had a habit of spilling her guts (not literally) to their mother. Of course Meg had sworn her to secretcy but with Bea, no one really knew, but at least it was safe from her family.

Relaxed about her sister-in-law not telling about the pregnancy, Meg was able to enjoy herself. Unbelievably (or believably, really) Meg started thinking about names. It was still a little early, but you can't help but think about them even the smallest amount of time in the beginning. "Did you start thinking about any names?"

When asked Bernard pulled out a list, full of names (http://www.behindthename.com/top/lists/100ew2008.php). Marked as his favorites for girls were Jessica, Sophie, Holly, Phoebe, Scarlett, Eva, Isobel, Zoe, Francesca, and Eve (his favoritest). On his boy list Samuel, Oscar, Connor, Isaac, Matthew, Edward, Gabriel, Sebastian, Elliot, and Morgan were marked (he really likes Samuel, Oscar, Connor, Isaac, Matthew)

Meg was shocked at some of Bernard's picks. Her favorites, for girls, were Emily, Grace, Sophie, Evie and Amelia, with her absolute favorite first name being Emily, and middle name Sophie. For boys her favorites were Oliver, Thomas, Matthew, Elliot, Ryan and Morgan, with her absolute favorite for a first name being Matthew, and middle name Thomas.

Bernard came up with a compromise; Eve Sophia Parker and Matthew Thomas Parker. What do you think? He asked Meg

If it's a girl, Eve Sophia is perfect, nickname Evie, since that was a name that Meg liked. And if a boy, Matthew Thomas. Meg was happy with the choices.
