After not feeling well for quite some time I realized that I might actually not have the flu, but instead be pregnant. We had been trying since Cora was a year old and after taking a break we had succeded. Ross and I were thrilled at the prospect of a new baby. Just to make sure the test was correct we decided I should get it confirmed by a doctor. Our local women's hospital has a strict no children policy so Ross had to stay home with Cora. During the appointment the doctor made a suprising discovery, I was pregnant with (identical) twins! I wanted to wait till I got home to tell Ross but I just couldn't so I called him and told him. Ross was beyond shocked (my brother and I are the only twins in the family) and even more suprised that they were identical. When we got home we celebrated. The happiness was short lived as at around 25 weeks we found out the boys had TTTS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TTTS) and I was forced to check into the hospital soon after. By week 31 it was apparent that Peter (the Donor) was dying. The babies were born less than an hour after that discovery. Andrew was born first and weighed 4lbs 5oz, Peter was born second and weighed 2lbs 14oz. Both the boys were immediately sent to the NICU. After a month in the hospital Andrew was sent home. While glad that we could bring one home we longed to bring the other. Cora was very interested in Andrew and even though she had stated she wanted two sisters she still loved him so. On their original due-date Peter came home. He was still very frail and frankly Cora showed no interest in him. We hope she'll soon warm up to him and love them both the same....
