In the Kingdom of Solandra
Years after King Pau's marriage to Graziella, he still did not have a son. Infante Itzal continued being Heir Presumptive in case anything happened to his brother. Infanta Hena, her twin sister Infanta Tziska, and Infante Itzal, as did the Royal couple, had had more children during the course of years, and, in case of Infanta Adriana, even married.
Unfortunately, Fate was against the Queen Graziella. After complications in giving birth to Infanta Lucrezia, the Queen was declared unable to bear any more children. The Royal Family was shocked and grieved by this, and the advisers royal began pushing the King to do something.
Refusing to divorce his wife, King Pau decided instead to adopt one of his nephews as his own. He gathered his mother, siblings, and in-laws to discuss this matter. It was a difficult discussion, with many opting instead to allow Infante Iskandar remain Heir Presumptive, but it was he himself who made the odd move. Stepping forward to his brother, he gave instead his youngest son, Michele, and offered him to be his brother's adopted son. Pau was overwhelmed by his brother's gesture and agreed.
Michele's transition to living with his uncle was not an easy one. He was of the same age as the King's daughter, Infanta Sofia, but found her hard to deal with. Rumours even began to spread that Infante Iskandar only gave his son for the sheer power it will bring him. Pau tried to bond more with his adopted son, but Michele was clearly homesick.
It was at these hard times that Infante Iskandar, whom the people had dubbed "The Wolf Prince" for his usually cold and somewhat arrogant disposition, abruptly flipped to the other side of the coin. The nation watched, enthralled and yet unbelieving at the same time, as the prince spent his days visiting his son at the Royal palace, talking to him and watching as he started bonding with his new family. Once, a photographer even caught a controversial image of Infante Iskandar silently observing his son playing with his new siblings with what seemed to be a gentle tear in his eye.
Time passed, and Infante Michele soon integrated into King Pau's household. His birth father visited him less and less, although his actions did manage to mend the relationship with his brother and sister-in-law. But when his visits suddenly stopped, Infante Michele asked for him. When Pau told him that his son missed him, rumours reportedly state that all he could do was embrace his brother. Soon, the public's view of the prince changed, and he was soon re-named "The Pater" for his attitude towards his son.
