Following the drought was a tranquil time of peace and prosperity for the Kingdom of Forestmere. Three years after the birth of Crown Prince Nico, Queen Rosabla gave birth to another son. Wanting to honor the King, she chose to use his first initial as the first initial of their son. Two years later, when she gave birth to a daughter, the King insisted that she use her first initial as her daughter's first initial. This was the end of the peace and tranquility...
With the changing of the leaves, a strange plague came to the gateway village of South Heckard. Not knowing anything about this strange new plague, everybody assumed it came from the other side of the mountains in Kehail. After all, there had never been a plague that seemed to burn muscle away and slowly kill a person from the inside out.
The plague was deadly, killing everyone who came down with it. However, it didn't seem to strike everybody. One in fifty seemed to get the plague, but there was no rhyme or reason to who would get sick and who would stay healthy. The healthy farmer got sick, while his ailing mother never got the disease. The woman with chronic cough got sick, and her twin stayed healthy as he had always been. Child died, while siblings and mother stayed healthy.
People were on the verge of panic, and the only reason they weren't was the fact that it seemed isolated to this one village. And then, as it started, it seemed to be stopping. Again, no rhyme or reason, but the cases were starting to dwindle down to just a small handful.
Just as everybody was starting to breathe easy, the plague all of a sudden started up in North Umbrig. Again, it was the same. There was no rhyme or reason to who came down and who stayed well. The only consistent throughout was that it seemed to strike only 1 in 50.
Again, as it started to dwindle in North Umbrig, it struck in Rivervue and Keller. Pretty soon, it was wandering all over the Kingdom, and no one felt that anywhere was safe.
In the midst of this panic, the Queen became pregnant again. Frantic with worry, she consulted every doctor and priest that she could find. None had anything of substance to tell her. Finally, a little old hunchback wandered into the court. He was a nomad priest of Cahool. He told the Queen that if she were to use the U. Z. H. P. and K. E. B. O., then her twin daughters would have a safe and healthy birth and would have some immunity against this strange plague.
Scoffing, the King laughed when Queen Rosabla mentioned the little priest. King Jasper pointed out that they already had twin girls, and it was unlikely that they would have another set. Agreeing, the Queen nevertheless decided what she would name the girls if they proved to be twin girls.
When the girls were born, the Queen gave them the names Undine Zahrah Helene Pearl & Kamala Elanor Beatrix Opal. When the King saw his Queen after the birth, he asked if she remembered what the little priest had said. Nodding, the Queen admitted that she had used those initials when choosing names for their daughters. With this, the King heaved a sigh of relief and went off to order his men to attempt to find this strange priest. It was hoped that this priest might know some way of stopping this plague from continuing to terrorize the Kingdom.
