Welcome Ava, Belle, Caius, and Dorian!
Ava Elizabeth is an eight year old girl from Los Angeles, California. Both her parents were shot. Here older sister Mariah was already adopted and Ava would like to stay in contact with her. Ava has diabetes and has a pump for it. You have to regulate her diet carefully. She loves to read, swim, run, and play at the park.
Caius Johnathan is a five year old boy from suburban Wisconsin. His parents abused him for several years. He has emotional problems because of the abuse, he is very shy and quiet and very rarely speaks. He is also very scared of new situations. He likes to color and play with his stuffed animals.
Belle Annelise is a four year old girl from Miami, Florida. Her parents neglected her, and she was recently hit by a car and paralyzed from the waist down. She is in a wheelchair. She taught herself to read, but she still likes being read to. She also likes playing with dolls and finger painting.
Dorian Phillip is a three month old baby from Memphis, Tennessee. He was found abandoned on the side of the road. He was found with half is right arm gone. He likes to smile, gurgle, eat, nap and kick.

Two years later....

I am happy to say that all the children are doing extremely well.
Ava settled in nicely right from the start and we loved her instantly. She has a very outgoing personality and never lets her diabetes get the best of her. We allowed her to become part of a local swim team and she also has been part of the junior track team at her school. She gets along well with the other children and is always trying to help them and make sure they are getting along with each other. She has also remained in touch with her sister and has also visted her a few times.
Caius has been doing much better than when we first adopted him. Keegan was really excited to be getting a brother his age and has helped Caius overcome his shyness some. The two have become really close to each other and are practically inseperable. I definately have to say that Keegan is the one he trusts most, even though he has opened up to the rest of the family as well. We also got him a puppy shortly after we adopted him, hoping it would help some. He named it Rocky. Jakob has taken Caius and Keegan camping many times, and they both enjoy it.
Belle has been doing well also. She regularly goes to physical therapy for her paralysis once a month and is also enrolled in program that helps teach kids that are paralized and in wheelchairs how to do things that are difficult for them. Though she doesn't like the fact that she will always be in a wheelchair, she never lets it get the best of her and is always trying to out-do herself. She has become quite the artist, moving from finger painting to a paint brush and has won several art contests at her school.
Dorian is such a joy to have in our house. He always makes us smile and encourages us without meaning to. He has grown rapidly in the past two years and has learned so much. I don't think he even realizes he is missing part of his arm because it has been like that since he was so young, and he always finds ways to do anything without it. Jakob has talked of possibly getting a prosthetic arm for him when he gets older.

Vaughn and Seren were the first once to arrive at their new family. Since he is very talkaktive and openminded, Vaughn settled in very very fast and became very close and good friends with Talfryn with whom he plays soccer and baseball in a team. He and Aderyn love to make music together and together with some friends they formed a garage band. Seren had some more trouble to adjust to the new situation but soon Mabyn and she connected. They both love to learn more about cultures and countries and one day want to visit the whole world.
The second one to arrive was Clara from France. Since she is the same age as Aderyn they both go to the same class and they both love to paint. Together they visit art museums and take paintingclasses in the afternoon. She also gets along very good with her 4 other new siblings.
Akiko was the last one to arrive at the house. Especially Mabyn and Seren were very happy about welcoming the little girl to the family. They both teach her English while Akiko teaches them about her homecountry and the Japanese language. The three younger girls became very close and are best friends.
This summer the whole family will go on their first vacation with all family members and they soon want to visit Japan and France as well to teach all children about Akiko's and Clara's heritage.
