After a long reign over Ostmead, King Max I has decided to pass the sceptre to his son, Infante Itzal of Ostmead, now King Itzal I of Ostmead. The former King has now become Duke of Zchsell, living peacefully with his wife, the Duchess Rosabella.
In the meanwhile, the new King's elder half-sister Infanta Matilde and her husband the Duke of Aloestream, had decided to adopt a son. They had named him Massimiliano Antoni Victor. Maxie is the namesake of both his parents (who had middle names related to Anthony, or Antoni, as was his version) and his grandfather.
A strange news has happened: Infanta Colombina had been deserted by her fiance, the Duke of Vicena. She was terribly humiliated and heartbroken. The Duke of Zchsell, the King's father, pressed King Itzal to act against them, which he did. The young King then called Duke Andre to his court, and, after spending a few hours locked outside in the balcony, emerged victor. Andre agreed to marry Colombina. The situation in which he had been convinced to return to his fiancee and other details remained obscure, as neither Andre nor Kind Itzal wished to reveal what had happened.
