DW: Keara Jane Taylor (28) (writer)
DD: Lindsey Joy Taylor (2)
DS: Grant Kennedy Taylor (0)NEXT BABY: 3 yearsWhen Lindsey was 15 months old, I found out I was pregnant again! Jack and I hadn’t been trying, but we were very happy to be expecting again. Lindsey was SO excited, it was so cute! She had a calender in her room that listed the “Days Until Baby” on it, she was so thrilled! I was worried about finding out our baby’s gender, as I didn’t want to disapoint anyone. Happiely, Jack was thrilled when we found out we were having a son and Lindsey loved to tell people abotu ehr Baby Broder on the way! Grant was born very early in the morning one snowly Janurary day and our little family was so so happy and proud! Grant is a perfect little baby, just like Lindsey was, and is our little prince! When I was three months pregnant, we had a bit of a scare with Lindsey. She had just started to really be able to run very well and was a little hard for me to catch now that I was having morning sickness. Well, one morning, Lindsey ran down the stairs and took quite a fall down. Her screams were like none I’d ever heard and I called Jack, gave her an icepack for her arm and rushed to the ER! After x-rays came back, we found out our little girl had compleatly cracked her collar bone in half and would have to wear a sling for six months, right up until I had Grant. It slowed her down at first, but then, after Lindsey stopped hurting, she thought the sling was pretty cool and didn’t resist it too much. We were just glad nothing worse happened!I’ve been in charge lately of both Lindsey and Grant while Jack’s at work. I’d been able to handle having one child, but now that I have a rambunkious toddler and a fussy newborn, its very tiring! Jack makes the “I’m so sorry!” faces, but I can tell he thinks, “What is she talking about?”. That’s because, by the time Daddy comes home from work, they’re perfect angels for him! One weekend, Jack and I woke up early, preparing for a day doing the parenting together, when the phone rang. It was my mom, saying that my step dad had had a possible heart attack and I should come to the hospital! Of course, I rushed over, leaving Jack with Lindsey and Grant for the day. Paul didn’t have a heartattack it turns out, but I ended up staying five towns over at my parent’s house for the night. The next morning, I got home early, before the kids woke up, and found Jack at the breakfast table looking very very tired. “How’d it go?” I asked, and Jack lauched into a huge story about how naughty the kids were for him. I listed on and off until I heard the words “Dressed all up like a girl!”. It turns out, Lindsey dressed up Grant like a girl, wearing a dress and even some makeup and called him Gretel all day long. And, get this, apparently, to my husband, Grant LIKED THIS. Hmmm, I two month old baby showing preference? Anyway, Jack had a talk about Grant being a boy with Lindsey and now, we have to make sure Grant doesn’t be around too many girly things. Oh my, my husband!
