With Lina and Josie toddling around, I was finally out of baby-mode and was able to focus on my art again. We weren't thinking about anymore children at this point in our lives so this was a complete shock. How does your hubby feel?
He thought I was joking at first. After ten long minutes of sitting at the dining room table, he eventually let it soak in. He lifted Josie off of his lap and told her to play outside with Lina. He just kept shaking his head and rubbing his eyes.
"We are we going to do?" He muttered after a while.
That was the question we let hang over our heads while we slept that night. By the next day he was still apprehensive but strangely giddy.
"Maybe it'll be a boy!"
What about the family?
The family…well let's just say they voiced quite a bit of concern on the matter. After all, they only have our best interest at heart. We just had to concentrate on preparing for another baby. How did you tell the kids?
Once Alex and I successfully tucked in the girls, we told them that they'd soon have another brother or sister to play with. Josie whined a little bit but Lina immediately started babbling about how much fun it'll be. Also how do you deal with the fact that you live in a 2 bedroom house (you can’t move)?
We decided that we would buy a bunk bed for Lina and Josie and put the baby's crib in our room for now.One day, when your youngest is about a month old, someone says something rude to you about the ages of your children. What did they say? And how did you respond?
It was a very trying day for me that day, and when nighttime rolled around Alex and I found ourselves at a small get together at his cousin's house. He had invited a few familiar faces and others who we had never met before. This happened to include a snooty woman who was always seen either chattering away on her phone or scrutinizing everyone with her friend. When she introduced herself to Alex and I, the subject of children came up, to which the age differences of our kids came out.
"How precious," she said to us. When she turned sideways to her friend I could just hear her mutter: "Remind me to get the poor girl condoms for Christmas."
"Excuse me?" I retorted, followed by me belting out a slur of insults, which I do not in the least bit regret, before Alex grabbed me around the waist and pulled me into the kitchen. Next thing I knew, we were in fits of laughter as Alex tried to imitate what he saw.
Also you have a new niece, your first niece/nephew, tell us about her. Do you want more kids?
He is the cutest little thing ever- besides my own of course! I do want more kids, but I just wish it could be father along in the future.
