King Charles could not be happier with his Grandson, Prince Lysander. He is also happy about his daughter, Princess Amelia, and her engagement to be married to Prince Maxence Bertrand of the Marxilke Kingdom. However, his son, Crown Prince Malcolm desires to marry a young commoner, Madeleine Davies. This is nothing short of a crisis. Even in the face of being forced to abdicate his right to the throne, Prince Malcolm is sure of his love for Madeleine. So what to do? Should the King and his Parliament force abdication upon the Crown Prince, or will they accept Miss Davies into the royal family? After all, there is no specific law saying either way. Finally, it is decided that Prince Malcolm will not have to abdicate the throne in his marriage to Miss Davies. The royal family then goes to great lengths to promote Madeleine's character to gain acceptance from public in Atliana. Surprisingly, their love story touches the public, and they are seen as an endearing couple.
Within the home, Princess Sarah has fallen deathly ill, which isn't a surprise since she was a very sickly infant which led to a sickly childhood. However, even on the brink of death, Princess Sarah still pulled through to the delight of her family.
