The king has at last found a suitable wife for Cassius: Apollonia, the youngest daughter of King Sidonius of Lorhall. The two get along well enough, having met at several different balls and banquets, and this is just another good thing about the match, which will also benefit both countries and keep them on good terms. The wedding plans are underway, and Cassius is looking forward to the day. The wedding will take place in Belhollow, and the two will live in the castle and wait for the day when they must take over ruling.
Maximilian also found a husband for Yseult, but she would have none of it. She did not argue or become hysterical, she just married her love, a painter named Timaeus. Maximilian did not break up the marriage, but he employed Timaeus as the court artist and gave the two land and a manor not too far away in an effort to assert some control and keep his daughter close to him and distanced from the life of commoners. Yseult isn’t complaining, though—she got to marry the man she wanted to marry, and they’re very much in love.
This same year, Iphigenia fell ill again. Again, the court doctors didn’t think she would survive, having been weak beforehand. For weeks, she stayed in bed, running a high fever and delusional at times, but she pulled through. She is still weak, but now her survival is certain.
