When your oldest was only 7 months old you found out you were pregnant. How did you feel?
Shocked, and terrified. My legs were shaking as I read the pregnancy test. Then, I started to cry. I didn't want another baby, not yet, for now, Bethany was enough. I hoped that for some reason it was wrong, yet it wasn't.
How did your husband feel?
Basically the same as me. He was also shocked, and did not want another child right then. He got over it in a minute, went and got Bethany and said, "Come on! Now we'll have two of these. What more could you ask for?" I smiled a little at that, and wasn't quite as scared.
What did the family think?
They were surprised, but overjoyed. My mom was delighted at the prospect of another Granddaughter so soon.
During your pregnancy your oldest senses something is wrong. They become more fussy. How do you handle this?
The only way to stop Bethany from crying her eyes out was to hold her. After a day of holding her, my arms ached, and all I wanted to do was go to bed. It was not a fun experience.
You also decide to quit your job (if you haven’t already). Why?
When Bethany was 5 months old, I started working on my art more, and it was fine. A few times a wekk, I'd drop Bethany off at Thomas's dad's, then head over to the studio to work. When Marley was born, I decided I did not want to plague my in-laws with two babies, one of which was extremely fussy, (Marley) so I just decided to become a full time mom.
How do you think your kids are going to get along?
I think they'll get along great. Bethany is very quiet, and she'll do what others tell her, and she's not bossy or anything herself. I believe Marley might be bossy, even at three months, I can almost see her little mind trying to think of how she can control us.
When the baby comes it is the same gender as your oldest. Were you happy or disappointed?
I was very happy. I just love little girls.
Did the family try to help you (when you came home)?
My family (and Thomas's) was very helpful. They offered to watch the girls any time Thomas and I wanted to go out, or to take them places if we just needed a break. I was very grateful.
Does your oldest like the baby?
She adores her.
Also they end up sharing a room. Does this make your oldest mad?
Not really. She quite enjoys spending time with her little sister.
Also if your first baby was fussy this one is calm/if the first was calm this one is fussy. Is that surprising?
I was hoping for another calm baby, but I didn't get my way. I suppose it's not that surprising. A lot of babies are fussy.
Your oldest does something unexpected to/with the baby. What does he/she do?
She obsesses over her, and she tries to spend time with her every second. So I was very surprised when she threatened to hurt her. I suppose even my sweet little girl can get jealous.
Now that you’re a SAHM what is your schedule like?
