Infanta Colombina Birgitta Ingrid was born as a pleasant surprise to the Royal Family of Ostmead! The Queen's pregnancy was an unexpected event, and was quite a coincidence, as the Infanta Mina had just been arranged a marriage with the Prince Raffaelo of Escalona, and had also unexpectedly agreed to the engagement. It seems that the bride-to-be was smitten with the young man. They were scheduled to marry at the time they were 22 and 21, respectively. In honour of the engagement, the Queen gave her daughter the name of Colombina, which means "Little Dove", in the national tongue of Escalona.
