The Hill Family lives on Lavender Lane. Benjamin Alexander 'Ben' is the father. His wife died along with his two young daughters in a car accident last year. Ben is very torn up about their deaths and moved to Lavender Lane to start a new life.

Lydia Delaney is Ben's oldest daughter. She is eleven. Lydia is distressed by the death of her mother and sisters, but has talked about it with counselors and feels better. She loves to paint and draw.
William Elijah is Ben's oldest son. He is eight. Will is only a shell of a person. He was in the car when his mom and sisters died and has said hardly a word since their deaths. He plays soccer and likes the outdoors.
Samuel Ryder is Ben's youngest son. He is two. Sam is a very happy baby and a bright light in the Hill family. He was a little confused about his mom and sisters' deaths at first, but seems to have recovered. Lydia is his second mom.
