Sons were given Irish names, daughters were given Spanish. Mei means "plump" or "beautiful", and Zan means "praise, support". Braiden's first name is Irish, in honor of Espiridion's heritage, and his middle name is German, in honor of Mei Zan's father's name [Adolf]. Aiko's first name was chosen for it's meaning, "love child", Lan, meaning "Orchid", was Mei Zan's mother's [Aiko Lan's grandmother] name. They call Aiko Lan Aiko for short, instead of Aiko Lan, but Mei Zan remains to be called by both of her names.
