After the loss of Sadie May, Gordon decided ot remarry. His new wife Gloria, gave him a daughter, Nora, only a year after their marriage. Everett and Nettie's little son, Jerry, died of polio just before the birth of his baby brother Lamar. Stella's film career has slowed down and the family has now moved back to New Orleans, where they are spending some time together. Winifred has been helping her children with all that they are facing, especially with the likelyhood of their husbands having to go to war. Stella's daughter Viola has even found a new boyfriend back in the bayou and hope that she will be able to marry him in the coming years.
