It is 1910.
Jack and Marie recently celebrated their eleventh wedding anniversary. In eleven years of marriage, they have now had seven children, six of whom survive. In 1906, Marie gave birth to another baby boy. He was followed in 1907 by another boy; however, the baby was stillborn. In 1909, they had another boy.
In 1906, Isaac paid a down payment on the land adjoining the Fields' property. In 1908, he married a local girl named Betty. Now they have two children, Rosalyn and Jake.
The farm is doing well for Jack, and he enjoys working the land. Marie is busy caring for the children.
Jonny is now ten. He is turning into a bright young man and has surpassed most children his age in school. He wants to go to college someday and maybe become a scientist or a writer.
Jamie is nine. He still has tons of energy, but now funnels it into entertaining his younger brothers and sister. He still loves the farm animals.
Benny is eight. He and Rachel are very close to each other, despite being two years apart. He still likes to tell jokes and have fun.
Rachel is six. Her best friend is Benny. Rachel also likes to make people laugh, and she is almost as good as her older brother at charming people and making them smile.
Bobby is four. He enjoys running around and being outside. His favorite job is helping Marie in the garden.
Charlie is one. He tends to be fussy, but calms down quickly, especially when his older brothers or sister is entertaining him. He especially likes the dog.
