HelpIs it possible that I could get a different random event?

Or at least, ignore this one? I actually didn't see it and wrote my family's little story, and then went back and saw it. I really can't figure out how to work it in.
And, for accuracy's sake, my family is actually currently unable to adopt a child from China.

Here's what I wrote before I saw the random event:
UN: Rachel Shay
LN: Catchlove
DH: Larry Dominic (29)
DW: Janis Noelle (23)
DS: Mordecai Noll "Cai"
Very soon after they were married, Larry and Janis found they were expecting a baby. They weren't exactly planning it, since Janis still hadn't found work and Larry was very busy at the hospital almost all the time, but they were thrilled when they saw that thin blue line.
The left the sex of the baby a surprise until it's birth, and were very happy to have a son. Larry let Janis pick the name, as long as she ran it by him first, and she went through several names before they agreed on Mordecai, nicknamed Cai. They chose Noll as a middle name, even though it's a nickname. They just loved the sound of it.
Cai is now 2 months old and is a very happy healthy little boy. He has begun rolling over.
Larry and Janis Catchlove have Cai Catchlove.
