The Year is 1920 and things have changed for the Grantland clan. Julius & Dorothy had one more child of their own, Helen Frances in 1918. That same year their eldest married Gilbert Clerke a Dutch immigrant who came to America during WWI to expand his family's trading business.

Their Eldest son, Julius Jr, married to Josepha Parish daughter of a local judge.

Meanwhile the Ewing brood had started to grow up. Hubert Jr and his wife Kathleen had two more sons; Francis & Joseph. The eldest two Ewing girls, Margaret & Anna have also enter married life.

Margaret married Jefferson Somerset, a local Baptist minister and the pair have twin girls; Anne & Mary.

Anna married Hans von Schwarzwald, a German war veteran and aristocrat, who was touring America finding somewhere to settle after losing much of his family fortunate during the revolutions that followed the war. They have a son; Hubert.
