Alec and Juliet go to the same university, but they didn't actually know that until a year ago. By chance, they studied abroad in London at the same time. But due to a big storm, their plane got stuck on the tarmac for three hours. Alec and Juliet were sitting next to each other, and inevitably they got to know each other pretty well over the course of the trip. They became close friends during the four months they were in London, and right before they headed back to the States, Alec asked her out. At the beginning of the next year, after they had been dating for eight months, they decided to move into an apartment together. Alec and Juliet have talked about getting married sometime after graduating, but nothing is set in stone yet.
