We were nervous about how they would settle in with our family but are already right at home and we couldn't imagine like without them. Geneva has been coping fantastically with both school and motherhood. She's started a course in fashion design at a local college where she can care for Jack whilst studying. Her interest lies particularly in the design of cloth and in dress-making. She makes us all the most wonderful gifts. She's taken exceptionally well to looking after Jack and stays with him in the self-contained flat that is attatched to our main house. She and Jack both have their own bedroom, a small living area, shared bathroom and kitchenette. She spent her summer holidays painting the flat and making cushions and throws with her new sisters Eva and Milly - they're delighted to have a big sister and she seems every bit as delighted to have found two wonderful and willing babysitters. Gen now attends both group councelling and a private councillor. She's met several other teens who've become single parents young at the group councelling sessions and has become particularly friendly with two girls - Paula and Caitlin - and a father of twins, Alex. The private councillor is helping her work through the trauma of the rape but thankfully the councillor has informed us that she's making very good progress - her obvious love of Jack has helped her accept the negatives of what happened whilst embracing the positive outcome. Iggy and Pat are also doing better than expected. Their new school has been outstanding and the principle asked that alongside a few other keen students to start a gay-straight alliance. The group has been a real success within the school, promoting and encouraging tolerance. They're currently organising an anti-bullying week and the principle reported back to me that instances of bullying have virtually disappeared since the formation of the group. Even better is that since the formation of the group, two other children have found the courage to come out as well. We're very proud of the boys for all their hard work and success. It has done wonders for them both - Pat has been able to express his views in a positive way and Iggy has been able to see how many people there are here who support him and his sexuality. The group has been so supportive of him and he's been deeply touched by the experiences discussed there. Thank you so much for bringing us the children,
All our love and thanks
