Sign-Up Round
The year is 2002.
Kolya and Nikki have been married for 3 1/2 months. Their wedding took place on June 12, 2002.
Kolya Sokoll is a native of Russia. He emigrated with his family to the United States when he was 10. Kolya started playing hockey in the US when he was 11 and he was very, very good at it. Now, he's been making his way through the amateur leagues playing hockey. He hopes someday to get onto a professional team.
Nikki Robinson grew up in the suburbs of New York City. She loves being in the city. She graduated college a month before marrying Kolya, and she now teaches a 3 year old preschool class.
Kolya and Nikki met through Kolya's sister, Katy. Nikki and Katy went to college together, and Katy thought that Nikki and Kolya would be good for each other. After one of Kolya's first amateur games, Katy introduced the pair, and they've been relatively unseperable since then. Kolya and Nikki dated for two and a half years before Kolya proposed to Nikki. They were married six months later.
Now, Kolya and Nikki live in a townhouse in Cincinnati, where Kolya plays hockey.
First Round
Nikki had no idea that she was pregnant when she was sick for three weeks in a row. Kolya suggested she go to the doctor. Nikki scheduled an appointment, but was shocked when the doctor told her she was expecting a baby. She went home and told Kolya right away. He was so excited that they would be a having a baby! He and Nikki decorated the nursery in yellows and greens, since they didn't know what gender the baby would be. They decided on the name Caroline Marie for a girl and Matthew Alexander for a boy.
Kolya and Nikki's son was born on August 29, 2003. Matthew weighed 6 lb. 8 oz. and was 21 inches long. Kolya and Nikki were elated! Their son was healthy. Matthew is now two months old. He is a very easy baby, and the Sokoll's love having him to love.
Second Round
Kolya was promoted to the National Hockey League at the age of 25. Maybe he was a late bloomer, but he is very mature and plays the game very well. Kolya, Nikki, and Matthew moved from Cincinnati to the Philadelphia suburbs. Kolya now plays in Philadelphia, and he is well-liked by the fans there. The family bought a five bedroom farmhouse in an older section of the city.
Kolya and Nikki were very excited to find out that they were having another baby. They had been trying for another baby ever since Matthew turned one. They were even more surprised when, at 5 1/2 months along, they were told that they were expecting twins! Matthew, then 2 1/2, was so excited for some siblings. He eagerly helped his parents get ready for the babies. Joseph Nicolas and Jacinthe Anne were born 23 minutes apart on September 8, 2006. Joey and Jacie were born two weeks early, but they are now both at home and healthy. Matthew loves them, and he entertains the new babies all the time. Nikki has decided to be a stay-at-home, especially since they now have three children under school age.
Third Round
When the twins were three months old, Nikki started getting sick every morning. She didn't believe it, but a pregnancy test confirmed that she was expecting again. She and Kolya were even more shocked when doctors told them that they were expecting a second set of twins! The first set wasn't even eight months old! Matthew was excited for more babies in the family, and he has remained a good helper. Kolya has been busy playing hockey and he was absent for a lot of Nikki's pregnancy. The second set of Sokoll twins were born on October 1, 2007, barely a month after Joey and Jacie's first birthday. Isaiah Daniel and Bryan Zachary were actually born right on their due date. They are identical, as far as anyone can tell. Matthew is a good helper with the four babies. Joey and Jacie didn't really seem to notice the addition of two new little ones, but Kolya and Nikki are sure noticing the lack of sleep.
Fourth Round
Thankfully, Kolya and Nikki survived the onslaught of babies at their house. Matthew is now eight and doing well in school. He is bilingual--Russian and English he speaks fluently, and the school is also teaching him Spanish. Matthew loves ice hockey, like his father, and he plays in a local league and is doing well. Joey and Jacie are five. They entered Kindergarten, and enjoy the experience immensely. Joey is very outgoing and tends to be a clown. Jacie is more reserved, but she loves running around and playing with the best of them. Isaiah and Bryan are four. They are going to half-day preschool three days a week. They love going to "school" like their older siblings. Isaiah and Bryan are indeed identical, and they have similar temerpaments. Both are rambunctious and wild and seem to enjoy climbing things above all else.
When Nikki started getting sick, she knew she was expecting again. After six months, the scans revealed that there was definitely only one baby and that the baby was a girl. Jacie was very excited to have a sister to play with--after all, she already had four brothers. The boys were excited, but kept hoping for a boy. Matthew, ever the chivalrous one, still takes good care of his siblings and watches out for their well-being. He confessed to Kolya that he secretly liked that he was going to have another sister to protect, "Boys are too hard to keep out of trouble." he said.
Victoria Lynn was born on July 12, 2011. She is a perfectly healthy baby, and even all the little boys in the house enjoy her.
Fifth Round
Two years after Victoria's birth, Nikki found herself expecting again! At four months, she and Kolya found out that they were expecting their third set of twins. They were astonished! What were the odds? Having had a lot of experience with twins, they prepared well for the arrival of their second set of identical twin boys. William Ryan and John Kane were born on May 15, 2013. They were born three weeks early and had some respiratory problems. However, they have been resolved and the boys are happily at home. Willie and Johnny are surrounded by lots of loving siblings. The boys love having more of their own to roughhouse with. Kolya talks about forming a baseball team if they have too many more children---and all of the boys already play ice hockey. The girls are more in love with gymnastics.
