They also come from very different economical backgrounds – Maya’s parents lived paycheck to paycheck, raising her and her five other brothers and sisters. Franklin comes from a wealthy background, “old money,” with just his parents and brother, Harrison.
Franklin and Maya knew their families disapproved and tried to obey, they were truly in love. They decided to elope and flew to Niagara Falls on New Years Eve.
