Re: Serel's You Say, You Think

This is my daughter, Alice.
You say: Oh that is lovely it is one of my favorite names! I think it might be about ready for a comeback. Oddly enough it's been declining consistently in the past few years, despite the tendency of names with a similar "feel" to be coming back into style! Actually it may have experienced a slight upswing in 2007. Anyway it is a wonderful sweet name! I love it! What is her middle name?
You think: ^
[After checking my facts, I realize that I'm thinking about Frances]
This is my daughter, Violet.
You say: What a nice name! It's coming back into style.
You think: It's fine I guess. Vi is cute. Super trendy.
This is my daughter, Daphne.
You say: Lovely!
You think: It's fine. Not heard much and it's fine. I think of Ravel eventually.
This is my daughter, Esme.
You say: How nice! One E or two? And then you would tell me one, and I would say: Interesting! Did you know that that is traditionally the masculine form? Many French names are made feminine by adding an E to the end, Louis and Louise, Francois and Francoise. And then you would be like: I know but I like it better without two e's.
And I would think: ugh.
Overrated name and she has to use the boy form. It's fine.
This is my son, Felix.
You say: OH FEELIX one of my fave names ever I love how German and Roman it feels at the same time. I also love it because of the composer Felix Mendelssohn. Also I looove the meaning. I think it's coming back into style, it's got a very 'hip' feel like names like Jasper and Leo. (Then you would tell me that you like Jasper too and I would be like) Oh see you are very edgy! Also it ends in an X which is pretty fashionable these days. Can I ask his middle name?
You think: FEEELIX ♥ This chick is a hipster.
This is my son, Carlisle.
You say: Oh Carlisle. That is such a cool name. It's an old family name for me. Is it, by any chance, family? (Then you would be like No it's because I like twilight and I would be like) LOL wow, that is cool though. I do not know many people who have the guts to name kids after their favorite characters actually. I've never read twilight. My favorite name is Minerva but it's not after the Harry Potter character.
You think: LOL@ seeing Carlisle used. It is cool.
This is my son, Jasper.
You say: Jasper! That is an interesting one. It is something you don't hear a lot. I think it is coming into style though along with Felix and Leo and Roman and similars. (then you would tell me oh lololol let me tell you and I would be like oh lololol you are a hipster.)
You think: Bleagh I can like most hipster names but this one I can't swallow. It's fine.
This is my son, Vaughn.
You say: Oh, that is interesting! It is handsome. Is it a family name?
You think: It is both of those things but damn this surname trend I am so tired of it
