While Adrian was on vacation he went to Urquhart Castle, on the shore of Locke Ness. He saw Riina and developed a kind of crush on her and followed her around until she got so creeped out she told him to back off. Very embarrassed, he left. About a week later he saw her on a double-decker bus at a bus stop. He entered the bus and asked her out. She figured she could go on one date and then he'd leave her alone. To her surprise, she found they had a lot in common, and they fell in love. They got married in the small village of Boat-of-Garten in northern Scotland after dating for a year and a half. Because he was an atheist, he was very shaken when he learned of the world of magic and mysticism, but he still loved Riina, and he got over it (mostly).
