Edmond Emeric Bonheur was born to a muggle father, Henry William Bonheaur and pureblood mother, Cornelia Pandora Bonheur nee Fallins.
His parents met when they were young, after Cornelia had ran away from home. She grew up in a traditional, wealthy home to parents who wanted her to be the perfect witch. But that wasn't who she was, she wanted nothing to do with the wizard world - so she thought. After being fed up with the magic world, Cornelia hoped aboard the Hogwart's Express at platform 9 3/4 and headed to London.
For awhile Cornelia was homeless, living on the streets of London. With what money she had, she bought a small flat above a restaurant where she worked as a waitress. Three years later, she met Henry, a beautiful man. He had black hair and piercing green eyes. She hadn't seen anything like him before.
Not too long after the two began to date and married 6 months later. About 4 months into their marriage, Cornelia couldn't keep her secret from Henry any longer. She confessed to him who she really was and why she left the wizarding world. Feeling betrayed and confused, Henry told Cornelia that she had to go back to the magic world to reconnect with her family. But she couldn't. Cornelia was pregnant and told Henry that if her parents ever found out that she was having a child with a muggle, they would disown her and her child completely.
Henry convinced her to at least try and talk to her parents. So 9 months later, Edmond Emeric Bonheur was born and they headed back to Hogsmeade, her hometown. On their way to her home, the family was involved in a terrible car accident on a country road. There were no survivors...except Edmond.
After authorities identified Cornelia's body, they took Edmond to his grandparent's home. Saddened with the news of their daughter's death, the old couple decided to raise Edmond, but only to keep who he really was a secret.
Once Edmond turned 11, he went off to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he was sorted into Ravenclaw. Throughout his years at Hogwarts, Edmond did very well. He was popular among his fellow students, was good-looking (the spitting image of his late father), excelled in Charms and Potions, was captain of Ravenclaw's Quidditch team, was elected as a prefect during his fifth year and named Head Boy of Ravenclaw for his sixth and seventh years. He was kind, sweet and charming.
When Edmond turned 18, his grandparents informed him about who he really was, but demanded that he told no one - for it could ruin his chances of becoming something great and be his key to surviving during a dangerous time (Voldemort was back) - and most importantly, their family image. Another twist - the money they had wasn't theirs. They lived off their name and what they already had. This too he needed to keep secret, or it would destroy everything. Angered, Edmond reluctantly agreed.
After graduation (and currently) Edmond began working as Wizengamot at the Ministry of Magic.
As for Edmond and Esme...
One night, Edmond went to a ball which celebrated his grandfather's work with the Ministry and the Fallins family. Since Esme's parents were also well known throughout the community, she and her family went as well.
Edmond notice Esme when she was dancing with her father, and it was love at first site. Edmond, never the shy type, walked right up to her with his charming ways and asked her to dance. He was captivated by her, as he should be with a Veela. She, too, was surprisingly captivated. She'd never felt this way about any boy before - especially when she didn't even know he existed! They two didn't talk much as they dance, they just starred into each others eyes, trying to figure out who this mystery person was.
Then and there, he knew she would change his life. The couple started dating soon after, and the match couldn't be more perfect. He loves her, she loves him. But she doesn't know his secret...
