Whilst Charlotte was pregnant for the second time, she tearfully approached Jakob with a shocking revelation. She had cheated on him around the time she fell pregnant and couldn't be sure that the baby girl she was expecting was Jakob's daughter. Ever patient and loving, Jakob decided it would be best to wait until after the baby was born before performing the paternity test. After baby Selwyn had been born, the doctors did the test and came back with the tragic news that Selwyn was not biologically Jakob's child. However, he'd fallen in love with the little girl the second he'd first seen her and had never been able to stop loving her mother. As Charlotte's child, Jakob knew that he would stand by his wife and raise her daughter alongside his own, Livia.
