Alek's DW’s best friend recently died while being robbed. Do you adopt his 1 years-old son?
Liam and Kate were rather surprised when their son, Alek, announced that he'd proposed to his girlfriend, Laine, considering the fact that they were so young. Nevertheless, the couple were married and were eagerly looking forward to their lives together. They planned to be married a couple of years before having children, but that all changed with one life-transforming phone call.
Laine received a call from her friend's father, telling her that he had died during a robbery. Shocked by the terrible news, Laine immediately asked how his young son, Kyle, was doing. He let her know that he was staying with him, but due to his poor health, he was worried about the well-being of his grandson. Knowing that Laine had been friends with his son for many years and that she loved children, he was wondering if she and Alek would consider taking the infant into their home. Without hesitation, she said absolutely.
Laine proceeded to tell Alek of the news, along with the fact that the little boy would be joining their family. When Kyle's grandfather brought him to the house for the first time, he immediately bonded with Alek, and the two shared a very special connection, that still continues. Eventually, Alek and Laine decided to make the addition of Kyle to their family official by adopting him, and he is now a happy one-year-old
