Any ideas for random events?: death of a spouse or child, someone in the family changes their religion, someone becomes a drug addict/alcoholic, child is born with a skin disorder, someone drafted for war, house is burned down, someone has a serious illness (like cancer), find out your daughter's boyfriend is abusive, teen pregnancy, discover your child is homosexual, best friend of your child dies (how do you break the news to him/her)
more positive things: someone becomes famous/celebrity, wins Nobel Peace Prize, becomes President, lands a leading role on Broadway, mutiple births (twins, sextuplets, octuplets, etc.), after not being able to conceive the couple manages to get pregnant
