My name is Maya Cypris, and I am different.
Not different as in "can speak three languages" or "isn't afraid of everything". I mean really, truly different.
I've known I was different ever since I was little, back when I lived in Hawaii. (My parents went there for their honeymoon and decided they wanted to live there). I was always near the water. After a time, I learned that I had the ability to control it. I was never scared or confused by this power. It was always with me. Something I had been born with.
Last year, I moved to the mainland to go to college. Now I'm in my second year at NYU. People here aren't as open minded as they were in Hawaii. I'm more nervous about getting caught. What would people think of me If they knew I had this power? What would they say?

That's why I said SO instead of H incase there was anyone who'd rather just have a SO, like me :) Beautiful name! SO has the power to bring out other's latent powers.
