Story:
Even though they knew the risks of a late pregnancy, Ian and Bat dreamed of being parents one more time. And so, they started trying even before Hugh was three years old. Just a few months after his birthday, Bat had to be rushed to the hospital, because she had haemorrhage. The twins were born at 27 weeks of gestation. After three weeks in the hospital - in which Ian and the kids didn't leave Bat or their new sibling's side - they went back home happy and healthy.
Even though hospital visits are monitored, the husband and children of the new mother are entitled to be in the room with her - only no nurse expected to see eight people around the bed, including three very active children (aka, Zero, Alice and Hugh) whose mottos seemed to be "Maternity hall walls are great canvases" and "Hospital food makes the best paint".
Strangely, the hardest thing to Bat and Ian during this pregnancy was to pick the names. Eva was reading a book in which the main character's name was Francesca - she talked about it with her mum and Bat just loved the name, since it reported to Ian's Italian heritage. Even if she finded it beautiful, Francesca sounded too long to use in a daily basis - especially by Hugh. Zero quickly declared she would be called Frankie - and end of subject. Bailey is to honour Bat's mother. Gerard's name brought up much, MUCH more controversy in the family. Everyone had a different opinion and nothing was ever decided. Just two days before the twins were born, Ian was going through some of his mother's old records when he found the name Gerard written somewhere and loved the sound of it - he didn't metion it to anyone, though. When Bat was on her way to the hospital she was very concerned about it. "We don't even have a name for the boy yet!", she stated. "Gerard Lucas." Ian simply stated. "What?" she asked. "Gerard Lucas, just came to my mind." Bat though for a while before answering, "It's nice."
Lucas was Bat's grandfather's name, that's why Ian thought of it. Much after the twins were born, on a visit to their house, Lucas asked, "How come you named them both after me?" Bat didn't unterstand for a few seconds, until she burst out laughing - she had completely forgotten her grandfather's middle name was Frank.
Even though Ian and Bat loved animals and had pets growing up, they always thought it wouldn't be a good idea to have a pet with the nomad life they were living. Now that they've settled down, they thought it was the right moment to give the kids the dog they had been begging for for ages. They found Tender at the local shelter and the kids instantly fell in love with him - he was mixed breed, looked somewhat like a beagle, and instantly jumped at Jonas. He was named after a character in a book. he's a good dog, even if he can be a cry baby sometimes.

When they found out that they were expecting again, Wil and Bekah were shocked. They were even more surprised to find out that they were expecting twins again! Because of trouble with her previous pregnancies, her age, and the fact that she was carrying twins, Bekah was put on bedrest for the last four months of her pregnancy. It was very stressful on everyone in the house, but Tali and Paul helped out a lot. Elisabeth Faith and Ethan Timothy were born six weeks early, but experienced few health problems other than needing a ventilator to help them breathe for a few days. The kids were all enthusiastic about the arrival of Elisabeth and Ethan. The twins were able to come home after just seven weeks in the hospital, once they had gained a few pounds.
Shayna was a bit jealous of the twins at first, because they were taking up all of Bekah's time; however, once Bekah let Shayna help out a little, she realized that the twins were actually very fun. Shayna is in Kindergarten now and attends school five half days a week. She loves being in "school" like the older kids now and she likes to show her projects and papers to Wil and Bekah for them to admire.
Dominik is in second grade. He loves music, especially classical music. He is taking piano lessons and is very very good for his age. Dominik also does well in school and is generally good-natured.
Matthew is in third grade. He too loves music. He takes both piano and violin lessons, but prefers the violin. Sometimes he and Dominik play duets. Matthew and Dominik are pretty much best friends and you'll hardly ever see them separated. Matthew doesn't do quite as well in school as his younger brother, but he manages to complete his assignments.
Eve is in sixth grade. She is beginning to outgrow her awkwardness and is learning good social skills. Eve has an amazing talent for writing. She composes excellent poetry and likes to write short stories as well. She is also fond of animals and has been pestering Wil for nearly a year to let the family get a dog.
Tali and Paul are in ninth grade. Tali has blossomed into a very pretty young woman. However, she rarely notices the looks she gets from the boys-she's too focused on her gymnastics! She has not abandoned her dream of making the Olympics someday and is working hard to achieve a spot on the National team this year. Because Tali is so enthusiastic about her gymnastics, Wil and Bekah have decided to let her pursue that and have arranged for a private tutor to come and teach her so that she has more time to devote to her passion. Paul, on the other hand, attends a public high school. It was hard for him at first without Tali there, but he has found his spot and now has quite a few friends who enjoy coming over to play Guitar Hero and soccer in the backyard. Paul plays soccer on the JV team and hopes to make Varsity next year, and he's also recently taken up skateboarding with a buddy of his.
As for Wil, he retired from playing professional hockey two years ago and has decided to try his hand at professional scouting. He's been travelling all over the United States and Canada searching for boys good enough to play in the NHL. He would like to try scouting in Europe sometime as well, but Bekah won't let him until the twins are a few years older.

It's been eight years. Eight hectic years. The kids is big now, and five of them is already adults. The two oldest, Daniel and Isabella, decided to move back to France. The two of them missed the country they were born in. The triplets are still living in Greece but they miss their older siblings and France too.
Four months ago when Sophie was out shoping with her friend Areti she suddenly passed out. When she woke up she found herself lying at the ground with many people watching her. Areti told her that the ambulance was on it's way. Of course Sophie was scared! She never even thought of that she might be pregnant. After all, her youngest son Silas was eight years old and they didn't plan on having more kids.
She were rushed to the hospital and Areti called Nathan who came there. The doctors couldn't find anything but they took some blood test and a couple of hours later one doctor came in to the room and said that Sophie were pregnant. The doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to see "how pregnant Sophie was" as she putted it. She told Sophie and Nathan that they would have their twin girls with them in four months! Then she stopped talking and stare at the screen. The didn't say anything but she ran out and came back with two other doctors.
Sophie freaked out. Ten minutes ago she didnt even know that she was pregnant, but if something was wrong with her babies..she couldn't even think of it. She didn't wanted to.
The doctors told them that it was a chance that their twins wouldn't survive. They had TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome) and you could easy see that one of the twins were bigger than the other. The doctor's also told them that they had been a third baby that had died quite early. Sophie and Nathan were shocked, not only was she pregnant, they could loose their babies, and they already had lost one of them.
Sophie went to controls every week. She went in to labour 2½ months before her due date. A C-section was done and two identical girls was born. However, Natalia was the most tiny little baby they had ever seen. The other twin, Thea, was big. Even bigger than Sophie and Nathan's singleton's.
The third little baby who had died was also born. Sophie and Nathan didn't even wanted to see her, and not give her a name. They were happy with their twin daughters and naming the dead baby would only make them sad. Sad that the baby wasen't alive.
Later on the girls were brought home. Their older siblings love them and I guess you can say that Sophie and Nathan have their hands full now with their ten children.

Starla nodded."Now all we have to do is tell the kids."
"So you're going to have a baby!" Stephen-Alexander yelled three months later. "Do you know if it will be a boy or girl yet?" Shae jr asked. "Yes and No" Starla answered. "We're going to get an ultra sound done tomorrow and we need the older ones to watch the younger ones." Sam nodded."We can do that as long as you tell us the second you get home." Starla laughed. "It's a deal."
"I can't watch." Starla said holding her husbands hand as the doctor set up the monitor. "Even if it's 3 boys, we will still love them." Shae said. Starla smiled. "I know, but everyone wants a girl and it's alot harder to put ribboned pigtails and frilly dresses on a boy the way I did with Sunshine." At that point the doctor had hooked up the monitor and was watching the screen to make sure that there was no problems with the child. Shae looked up. "Darling look at the screen!" he almost yelled in excitement. Starla looked up and saw that it was not one but two girls on the screen. She gave an excited squeal.
"Girls!" Sunshine squealed. "Yes!" answered Shae for the 20th time. "This is soo exciting!" Sam said. "I'm gonna have a little sister!" Sunshine squealed. "Two little sisters" Starla said. "Two little sisters." Sunshine repeated to herself.
3 months later the family gathered in the hospital room. "She's gorgeous" Sam said stroking his little sisters arm. "What are you gonna name them?" Seth asked. "Star Raine and Serenity Jane" Shae replied. Shane crawled up and into the bed with his mother and sisters. "I like their names, momma." he said. "Me too." Starla replied. Shae looked around at his family, happy and excited about the future

Five years after little Madelyn Joy was brought into their life, Bailey found she was pregnant again! They were not trying to have another child (8 was a handful already). And even more to their surprise...it was another set of twins! This time they wanted to know the sex of the twins and were really hoping for at least one little boy. They wanted one so desperately, but once again Bailey was carrying twin girls. At least they had enough hand-me-downs from their eight previous girls for their new arrivals. Bailey and Bill had decided on the names Meredith Kay and Karen Mae...Meredith Kay had come from the names of Bill's two grandmothers and Karen Mae from Bailey's.
About five months into the pregnancy, panic arose in the Smith household. Bailey started convulsing in her bed. Bill called 911 and somehow managed to call his mother to watch the girls. The ambulance took Bill & Bailey over to the St. Marys hospital where Bailey was diagnosed with eclampsia...a very serious condition in a pregnancy. The twins would have to be delivered as soon as Bailey was stable in order to ensure the mother's survival. That entire night Bill paced the floor of the waiting room praying (he wasn't allowed to be with Bailey as she was in critical condition). He was terrified of losing his beloved wife of 13 years. At 3 in the morning a doctor appeared and told Bill that Bailey was stable and that they were going to induce labor. If in 12 hours the twins were not delivered naturally, he would have to perform an emergency c-section. But in the meantime, the doctor would let Bill break the visitation rules to go see his wife. When Bill walked in the door of Bailey's room all the emotion he had kept pent up broke loose in a flood of tears. Bailey was asleep with a breathing tube down her throat. She looked so weak, fragile, and pale. Bill sat on the chair next to her and took her hand in his rubbing his thumb along the back of her hand. "We're going to make it through this, darling", he whispered. He leaned forward and kissed her on her forehead.
Ten and a half hours later, there were still no labor pains and the doctor began making the necessary preparations to go through with the emergency c-section. Five minutes before the c-section was to take place, Bailey started with the labor pains. They were coming very close together, so the doctor knew she would give birth within the next two hours. He also knew that this rapid progress of labor pains would take a huge toll on the mother (already weak), so he began praying himself that he would be able to save all three in danger. Only a short hour later the first baby was delivered. She weighed only three pounds, five ounces but was breathing normal. The nurses immediately took her out of the delivery room to the NICU for the proper care for a pre-mature baby. Bill could not believe how tiny his daughter was and began to worry for her survival. Fifteen minutes later the second baby was delivered, but there was no cry. Bill immediately flashbacked to the birth of Amelia and how she didn't breathe at her birth and almost didn't survive. The doctor and nurses were gathered around the child trying everything in their power to get her to breathe. Bailey looked at Bill with tear-filled eyes and whispered "I'm sorry." "It's not your fault, babe," he replied. He held her hand as they sat their in an agonizing wait. They were each praying silently. After what seemed like an eternity, the doctor walked away from the infant. "We have tried everything possible to revive the little one. I'm sorry but she's gone," he said. One of the nurses brought the child over and placed her in Bill's arms. Bailey was too shocked to react. She just stared blankly at the little baby. Bill looked down at his precious baby. "Please, God, no. Not her. Not our little girl. No." A tear fell off his cheek onto his baby's head. Then a miracle of all miracles...her chest heaved. She was breathing! "Doctor, she's alive!" Bill cried. The doctor smiled and whispered a thank you to the Great Doctor.
Bill and Bailey after the ordeal chose different names for their girls than what they originally intended. The first girl was named Hannah Faith. Hannah means "favour" and it was because of God's favour that she was alright; and Faith because they had faith in God to ensure her survival. The second child was named Selah Eve. Selah is a musical term found in scriptures used to denote a pause...and it was in that agonizing pause that her parents awaited the news of her survival; and Eve because it means "to live", "to breathe". It was what happened after that selah that seemed to last forever...God breathed life into her.
The twins were both under 4 pounds and it was two months before they could bring the girls home from the hospital. Bailey spent a month in the hospital, too recovering from both the eclampsia and the short period of labor. Bill had his hands full with his job, the eight girls, and visits to the hospital. But he was never more happy than the day he brought his two daughters home to his beautiful wife to complete their family.
