Richard and Queenie decided that they would like to adopt their first child. Richard himself was adopted and has always wanted to continue the tradition within his own family. After much consideration, he and Queenie chose to adopt from Liberia. They were united with their daughter, Camille Léa Emerson (née Hawa, meaning "first woman") in Monrovia, the country's capital city, and have been very happy that they were able to take her in.
Camille is five years old, with dark skin and eyes, curly black hair, and a long scar on her right cheek (from what, they aren't sure). She was very quiet when she first came to America, wide-eyed and unsure, but with time, she has blossomed into a reserved but sweet little girl with the habit of covering her mouth with her hands when she grins. She loves going butterfly-catching with her mum and dad, and has grown very fond of macaroni and cheese.
