Re: curiouslystrong's NTNB - Round 1
The Packenham-Pelly family:
DH: Albert William Packenham (33)
DW: Victoria Rosamund Pelly (31)
DS: St.John Alexander Packenham-Pelly (pron. “Sinjin”) – (2)
DD: Lavinia CharlotteAlbert and Victoria live in a sprawling manor estate in Buckinghamshire and both inherited large fortunes from their parents. For their daughter, they’re looking for a name to complement St.John, and want her first name to be elegant and her middle to be more recognizable – both names should be quite posh, however. The Lockwood family:
Dmom: Jane Katherine Lockwood – (30)
AD: Flora Jacqueline (honoring Jackson Pollack)Jane is a feminist and artist – her work is mainly abstract and always colorful. She’s always wanted a daughter, and now that she’s hit her thirties she’s decided that there’s no time like the present and has decided to adopt. She’s always found her own name far too plain and boring and wants her daughter’s name to be anything but. For her first name she wants something hippy-sounding, but nothing quite so blatant as Sunshine, Flower, or Moonbeam, and she’d like the middle name to honor a famous artist. The Covington family:
DH: Michael Henry – (25)
DW: Felicia Paige (Shephard) – (26)
DD/DS: Juliet Luciana / Adrian Milo(Juliet is from Romeo and Juliet, Luciana and Milo are from Catch-22, Adrian is from The Tempest) Michael and Felicia met during their first year of graduate study in English literature. Michael tends to prefer Shakespeare and other romantic and/or tragic classics, while Felicia’s favorite works include Catch-22, The Catcher in the Rye, and anything by Kurt Vonnegut (though she does have a soft spot for the likes of Eliot, Austen, and the Brontë sisters). They both want to give the twins names with literary connections, and both want their own favorite works and/or authors represented. The Nakahara family:
DH: Isaiah Katsuya Nakahara – (24)
DW: Chelsea Kim (Schmidt) Nakahara – (23)
DS: Nathaniel Sung (They gave their son a Korean MN because he has a Japanese LN.)Chelsea and Isaiah are both ethnically Asian – Chelsea is Korean, while Isaiah is Japanese. Both were raised in the United States – Chelsea was adopted, and Isaiah was born and raised there, the son of first-generation immigrants. They both want an English-sounding first name; Chelsea likes Elias, Declan, and Silas and Isaiah likes James, Alexander, and Benjamin, though neither is overly fond of the other’s names. For a middle name, they want something that represents their heritage, though whether it would be Korean or Japanese is a matter of dispute, and they don’t want him to have more than one middle name. They want to somehow compromise on both of his names. The Kohler Family:
DH: Ryan Mark Koller – (21)
DW: Kelsey Jennifer (Gardner) – (19)
DD: Alexia KerstinBoth names are German, but have trendy sounds.Ryan likes harsh-sounding German and Scandanavian names like Olga, Hildegard, and Dagmar, while Kelsey prefers trendy and creative names like Ambreigh, Cambrynn, and Breechelle. Kelsey’s parents are appalled at her favorite names and suggested that she find something that ages well, which she agreed to try to do. She and Ryan definitely want to compromise, and would prefer something unusual for both the first and middle name.
