Story:
The band was touring to promote their third album when Bat found out she was pregnant. She had been late and started suspecting it, but she only told her best friend Jill (also a roadie) about it. She wanted to take a pregnancy test without Ian knowing, so that he wouldn't get his hopes up if it was a false alarm or to surprise him if it wasn't, but they're always around each other on the bus! So Jill had the idea of doing it while the band was performing. Bat is usually backstage or in the audience listening to them, but she thought it was a great idea. So she took the test, and it was positive! Some tears came to her eyes at that moment, and when she went backstage and heard Ian dedicating the last song to her, she began sobbing. After the concert he found her like that and asked her what was wrong. She told him right there, and after a speechless moment or two, he picked her up and started crying too. The band, which had been hearing everything, then proceded to very literaly jump them and put together a party to celebrate!
Everything was alright with the pregnancy, and they decided that Bat would keep touring until the third month - and then move back to Ian's parents house for the rest of the pregnancy. It was a shock when the doctor informed them it was not one baby fraternal twins., and later that it was a boy and a girl, mostly because Bat's sister Flora had given birth to boy/girl twins just three years before! They had chosen the names Alice, if it was a girl, and Jonas (like Bat's grandfather) if it was a boy, but they ended up changing the girl's name to Eva - Bat liked the sound of them together better.
It was really hard on both Bat and Ian to not be able to see each other everyday, they weren't used to that much time apart, but Ian's bandmates and his family made sure none of them got too blue. Also, during the pregnancy Bat took a serious writing retreat - she wrote a whole book of poems, and she read to Ian and the babies every night.
The tour ended just a month before due, but the twins arrived three weeks earlier. Ian was at an interview when his niece called him, telling him to get to the hospital! He immediately forced his manager to drive him there - since the man told him he was way too out of it to drive - and so he drove like a madman for Ian to get there in time. He ended up getting to the delivery room just ten minutes before Jonas was born, and picked him right up. Three minutes later came Eva, and they both were held by mummy.
