About Them: After graduating from the Univeristy of Bristol with a degree in astrophysics, Elias and a few friends decided to take a carefree year and spend it backpacking across England. The plan was to hike through the remote wilderness and visit some ancient castles and ruins along the way, but what they really ended up doing was more along the lines of gate-crashing lots of university parties. At one such party in Manchester, Elias wandered off toward the university's museum and passed out against the wall of the building, which isn't exactly the best way to begin a romance, but, well...it worked for him. Moira, a postgraduate student studying archaeology at Manchester, left the museum late that night and found him not too long after he'd gotten there. She was a bit on edge after a long day of work, so she decided to wake him up by emptying her bottle of water over his head. She asked him what in the world he thought he was doing, and Elias replied that he'd gotten a bit sidetracked while backpacking across the country, adding that all he really wanted to do was see Stonehenge. Moira, who happened to be working on a project at Stonehenge as part of her postgraduate work, smiled a little at that and told him that she'd make sure he got to see it. Despite herself, Moira found his drunken manner endearing, and looked after himself for the rest of the night. The next day she would find that his sober manner was quite charming, and so she ended up taking him to Stonehenge like she promised. She spent the day showing him all the fascinating things she'd discovered while researching there, and Elias seemed thrilled about everything. It was clear day, so when the sun set the stars were bright, and the two of them leaned against one of the giant stone pillars while Elias excitedly told Moira about Stonehenge's connections with astronomy. They got along easily and naturally and started dating not long afterward. After they'd been together for a year, Elias proposed one cloudless night in the center of the circles of stones at Stonehenge. They got married a month after Moira graduated from Manchester with her Ph.D. Moira now works for the Wiltshire Archaeological & Natural History Society and Elias returned to his alma mater to work at the planetarium there. The couple lives in a beautiful Victorian-style home made of asher stone in an out-of-the-way part of Trowbridge, and they enjoy laying out in the spacious backyard to stargaze.
