Penny's birth went smoothly, after a scare with the umbilical cord wanting to wrap itself around her neck; everyone was very excited for the birth of our *last*, including the triplets. They're a bit tired of being babied, and hope that the addition will make people ooh and ahh over them a little less. Noah and Colby do wish the baby had been a boy, but little Emma Cate is thrilled.
We did have to remodel the kitchen to accommodate our ever-increasing (or so it would seem) family. The project has turned out well, though with so many little feet tramping through it took a while longer than we had originally anticipated.
Since we've decided Penny will be our last child, the kids (especially the older ones) are a bit heartbroken. They've gotten used to little ones around, and so we decided to let them pick out a pet so that even after little Penny grows up, they'll have something to take care of and look after. We visited pet stores and pounds in the area and just couldn't find that perfect pet... then one day a friend who has boxers told us that she'd had puppies! How wonderful! We took the kids to see them and they immediately fell in love with one of the pups. He's mostly white with brown patches on his head and ears. We let Case and Alexa name him, and they insisted on either Nemo or Shrek. So, Nemo he is. :)
